Then my audience were my classmates, and the small group would read my handwritten stories in composition notebooks and give them back on Fridays so I could add more on the weekends. Life took hold and I put my goals aside for my kids and when we moved to North Carolina, I began the journey to be a published author again. Read more>>

Sure! I’ve always been a massive fan of animation. Since I was a kid, it was something I clung to. The first time I saw Ariel singing “Part of Your World,” I was instantly entranced. I was five years old when I fell in love with acting. My uncle, Patrick Masurkevitch, and my aunt Charlotte Moore, are actors. My uncle was playing Billy Bones in Treasure Island, and pulled some strings to have me chosen as one of the kids who got to come on stage as one of the ‘Pirate Crew.’ I yarr’d my heart out. From then on, I knew I wanted to either be an actor, or a pirate. In some circles I’m actually currently known as Pirate Mike, because of a web series I did with some friends by that title where I played a depressed addicted failed actor dressing as a pirate for parties, so arguably I’m working on both. But the ride, to both, has been no straight sailing. Read more>>

By the time I was in my first year of college I was exclusively using colored pencils in my personal work outside of class. I started my art business, Deely Drawings, in 2019 during my sophomore year of college so I had something to grow and build that was at least substantial by the time I graduated. Read more>>

From there the ideas poured in like crazy, since then iv created several Hybird Bird creations, sold original paintings and had opportunities to present my pieces in galleries around Atlanta which has helped broaden my horizons along with being dedicated to my craft, learning myself more with each painting , being open to constructive critique and finding new ways to paint has pushed me to where I am today. I started my music journey off in High School at OPRF junior year when I found Hip-Hop. At that time I was mentored by Defcee who taught me the basics of what Rap/Hip-Hop was but I always wanted to do more than just “rap” especially because of my influences at the time. My goal has always been to save people lives with music. Over the years I just honed what my artistry was through trail and error. Some ideas wouldn’t work some ideas would stick. In those moments of failure it’d feel like I was never going to figure it out. Until I eventually got to where I am now. Making music about my emotions and experiences to help others that relate. At times it feels scary being so vulnerable with my experience because of questions I’d be asked. But then it feels rewarding just to hear someone say “this song saved my life” Read more>>

To this day, the scent of oil paints brings me a memory of when I smeared colors onto a painting my father had been working on. Who ruined my painting? He roared. I learned at a young age that being creative, no matter how good it felt, did not please everyone. Often awake before my parents, I headed outside to explore on summer mornings. I remember my fear turning to excitement as I ran through dew covered spider webs over our grassy acre of land in Alden, New York. I marveled at pollywogs in the pond, and once, I pounded on my neighbor’s door yelling, Help! Your dogs are stuck together! Read more>>

And to be fairly honest, I do not know or remember when the sparkle for acting started, but I remember the day I decided that I was going to work hard towards it and also the day I decided to take a step back – and I am proud of both. I started by doing what I could and what made sense to me at the time, because it all started as a dream. In the beginning I would picture myself starring in the movies that were set to come up and it was enough. In my mid 20’s I set up my first brand which was centred around bedlinen with one big image as opposed to a repeat pattern (this was way before the days of digital printing), it was not a great business plan – low rate of sale, high cost to produce, difficult to display etc. BUT it got me noticed. I had high profile retailers stocking my designs and I got a lot of press. That said I never really made money, everything I earned went straight back in. Needless to say I learnt many lessons in the 5 years I ran that business. Read more>>
