Today we’d like to introduce you to Hember
Hi Hember, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I first delved into music production around 2012, during the height of the EDM scene. Inspired by legends like Martin Garrix and David Guetta, I began my journey with progressive house, exploring its energetic beats and soaring melodies. As I continued to evolve, I ventured into various house genres, including future house or deep house, seeking to expand my musical horizons.
After years of experimentation, transitioning through more comercial and rhythmic styles like future bass or reggaeton, until I finally discovered my unique sound, a perfect blend between dance and reaggaeton that truly defines my artistic identity today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been easy. I’ve watched many artists around me succeed rapidly, some with just a few months or years of experience. Even good friends who found success weren’t always willing to lend a hand. It’s a very solitary and independent journey, but that never deterred me. I knew what I wanted and believed in the quality of my work. My mantra has always been: stay true to yourself, be determined, and never give up. Passion and perseverance are the keys to achieving your dreams.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I really wanted to discuss work because it’s true that, nowadays, and especially in the music industry, it’s challenging to earn a sustainable income. That’s why, even as I develop my production skills, I also explore various opportunities within the music industry. Alongside creating music, I DJ at private events and weddings, teach the basics of music production, and offer DJ skills lessons to kids. It’s important to mention that I do make a living from music—not just through my productions, but through these diverse avenues as well.
While my ultimate goal is to make a living from my music and build a large fan base, I see this as just part of the journey to getting there.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice, which I’ve shared before, is to always stay true to yourself. Don’t let anyone change who you are. Keep pushing forward and aim high. Strive for your biggest goals with unwavering determination!
