We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

The mission at this point is quite obvious and long overdue! We must control the dial and change the narrative! In the fifty plus years of Hip Hop, the latter years of the genre has become the new plantation and a breeding ground for the old slave mentality in a modern environment! We are at a pivotal point where the voices of reason and logic have been muted and the roar of destruction has been amplified to the point that adults are justifying the miseducated behavior and the youth are being led by the blind! We must call out the person(s) who’s controlling the dial and cutting the checks, which also seem bogus, once the artist dies or goes to jail especially the ones without a monetized buzz or even a hit record! If we are to have any inkling of positivity for the future, I intend to act now and accordingly to rid the culture of these demonic spell casters! Read more>>

CoCoBella Natural is deeply rooted in a mission of empowerment, particularly for women navigating their natural hair journey. But beyond curls and coils, our mission is about helping women rediscover and reclaim their confidence.
The story behind that mission is personal for me. When I first returned to my natural texture, I was overwhelmed — not just by products and routines, but by years of messaging that told me my hair needed to be “fixed” to be acceptable. That internal struggle turned into a deep desire to create something that made other women feel seen, celebrated, and supported. What began as a passion project turned into CoCoBella Natural: a brand that champions authenticity, self-love, and inner strength. Read more>>

I’m a single person company. I do aerial photography of mountains and glaciers across western North America. My images have appeared widely in films, books, magazines, scientific journals, and in/on various digital media. I am by no means highly profitable. What I have done and accomplished is based on my long-held interests in climbing/skiing, aviation, and photography. It’s been driven by obsession and a single minded determination to fly to and photograph some of the most remote and wild mountainous terrain in North America. I’m not a great self promoter. Detroit Press Play was born out of passion, purpose, and the power of storytelling. My journey began with my first published novel, Scars, Sins, and Secrets: Part 1—a story about someone dear to me, based on true events. Written to shed light on the devastating reality of sexual abuse, the generational curses within families and to encourage survivors to find their voice. I wanted people to know that no matter how dark the past, healing and empowerment are possible. Read more>>

December 1999 changed my life forever. En route to my third combat tour, the C-130 aircraft I was on sustained catastrophic damage, leading to a devastating crash that claimed the lives of my fellow airmen and friends. I was left grappling with severe PTSD, depression, and numerous medical issues, including pre-diabetes. My health and quality of life had deteriorated drastically, despite once being a semi-pro football player, track sprinter, and champion amateur bodybuilder. Read more>>

I am not a designer , I would rather be an interpreter of nature and environment.I view the “whisper of nature” as the soul of my
creations, using abundant negative space and gentle lines to awaken the viewer’s latent memory of the ecosystem. For me, materials and colors are not merely visual symbols, but a “memory topology” resonating between humans and the environment: amidst the daily pressures of urban life, we may all need a touch of clean green to echo the tranquility within. I refer to this dialogue as “the whisper of matter”—allowing the canvas, ink, and pigments to carry unique emotions and reflections, like a serene conversation. Read more>>

Teal Dragonfly Creations began with a spark of passion and a pair of hands eager to create—what started as a way to find peace and express creativity through fiber arts like crochet, knitting, and macramé soon blossomed into something much greater. As I explored these crafts, I found not only healing but a deep desire to connect with others and build a welcoming community through handmade artistry. The name itself holds deep meaning: teal represents awareness, healing, and renewal—especially for those facing anxiety or recovering from trauma. The dragonfly, a longtime symbol of transformation, resilience, and hope, reflects the journey of growth, creativity, and lightness that I want to share with others. Read more>>

The main goal of the Blue Collar Baddies Podcast is to inspire and empower women in the trades. Everyone should have the opportunity to follow a career they’re passionate about. Read more>>

We started 12 years ago as a way to donate money to an orphanage in Nicaragua. We were both part time teachers and didn’t make enough to have anything extra to give. So, my husband borrowed $300 from his dad, bought a one pound coffee roaster, and started roasting at home. He emailed the teachers at school and told them if they bought our coffee we would donate the funds back. This started what is a now a 100,000 pounds a year coffee roasting company. We have created lifelong friendships with our farmers throughout Central America, and now give to three different organizations that help children with education, food, and special needs services. I am a very colorful queer artist who was born into a very conservative family structure. The men were uncomfortably stoic. humorless, emotionless brutes that, to this day, I have never seen smile. The women were stepford wives if the trope included being vocally miserable about the whole deal. They would complain about their weight they would gripe about having to clean this or that, and when given the opportunity, they would lash out. Read more>>

At the Sound Soul Center, my mission is to facilitate inner coherence and expanded awareness through intentional sound, presence, and ritual.
This mission comes from my own journey. Over time, I came to understand that sound isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we feel, something that reorganizes us at the deepest levels. Influenced by the work of Alexandre Tannous, I approach sound not as performance, but as a precise tool for consciousness—a way to access altered states, dissolve mental patterns, and return to the truth of who we are. I began exploring my passion for hairstyling at a young age, experimenting with baby dolls. By 14, I had discovered my talent through working with friends and family members. I commenced providing hairstyling services from my townhouse, initially catering to children and select adults. SLC Inspired is a meetup club for models and photographers to come together in a safe space to have a photoshoot with a new theme each month. Our missions is to create a space that is safe for everyone. A place where people can truly be their unapologetic and authentic self. As well as to teach creatives it’s okay to prioritize safety while creating art. And in doing so you don’t lose out on opportunities. You should never have to work with someone that makes you feel uncomfortable. We have a vigorous RSVP process which helps eliminate any creepy encounters so that attendees not only work with safe creatives but they can learn how to also create a safe environment for their future endeavors. We want to show that creating art and photoshoots can and should be done in a way that’s safe. Read more>>

Voyager Hot Sauce was birthed out of a passion for great fresh quality ingredients combined with a passion for fostering authentic connection. Growing up Hispanic, culture was driven with honoring generational heritage and traditions with family. Food made with love was a representation of showing care and deep connection for one another. It’s more than hot sauce to me, our bottle serves as a visual representation of fostering connection, family, quality and excellence in all we do. In 2019, I let my corporate job consume me. I let go of all of my healthy habits….exercise, nutrition, sleep, just to name a few. My mental health was wavering as I spent countless hours putting the customer’s needs over my own. I would cry, I would be quick to get frustrated and left no time for enjoyment of life. I had reached the highest weight of my life and looking back now, I can’t remember much else about that year except for the project I was working on at that time. I had let my boundaries slide in all areas and this was no one’s fault but my own. I was broken, and I didn’t realize how broken I was because my head was down in my job. Read more>>

The story behind our mission began with a simple, persistent frustration I witnessed across every phase of my healthcare career: incredible people doing incredibly hard work—bogged down by systems that weren’t built for them.
