We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kyle Wittlin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kyle below.
Alright, Kyle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Over the last couple of decades, I realized something important: whenever students had questions about Logic, music production, or anything technical, I always had the answers. As I worked in the industry—whether as a music director or through licensing my music for commercial projects—I noticed I was doing things no one else in my direct circle was doing. This combination of music expertise, technical know-how, and passion gave me a unique opportunity to help more than just the students I was teaching in person.
I wanted to take everything I had learned and share it on a larger scale, to help aspiring music producers, accomplished musicians, music educators, and professionals from various industries who needed help navigating the deep capabilities inside Logic Pro. I simplify the tech and make it accessible, tailoring my approach to meet each client’s needs. A big part of why I founded Logic Pro Mastermind (LPM) was to create a space where I could help people at all levels of expertise not only master the technical side of music production but also gain more control over their creativity and achieve the sound they’ve been dreaming of. Through LPM, I’m able to support a global community of producers and musicians, empowering them to unlock their full potential and bring their musical visions to life. The sense of support and community that LPM members experience is therapeutic for all of us in so many ways—whether it’s through collaboration, shared learning, emotional support during creative struggles, or the motivation that comes from knowing we’re not alone in our journey.
If you’re ready to take your music production to the next level and join a community of passionate producers, I invite you to visit my website and learn more.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Kyle Wittlin, a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, composer, and the founder of Logic Pro Mastermind (LPM), a global platform designed to help aspiring producers, accomplished musicians, and music educators navigate the deep capabilities of Logic Pro. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various facets of the music industry, from licensing music for major brands and TV networks like NBC, CBS, and Netflix, to working as a music director at Bridges Academy in Los Angeles. As a Grammy-nominated music educator, I’ve spent years helping students develop their musical skills, which has further shaped my approach to music production and education.
LPM was born out of my desire to reach a broader audience. After years of working with students at Bridges Academy, I realized I had a unique combination of people skills, music expertise, and technical know-how that could benefit more than just my local community. My success in licensing my music for commercials, TV shows, and even video games gave me the confidence to create a program that not only teaches the technical side of music production but also empowers students to take control of their creativity and achieve the sound they’ve been dreaming of.
Through LPM, I simplify the complex aspects of music production and make them accessible to everyone. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each student, whether they’re accomplished musicians who need help with the technical aspects of music production or aspiring producers just starting out. One of the things I’m most proud of is the supportive, tight-knit community we’ve built. The sense of camaraderie among LPM members is therapeutic in many ways—it fosters collaboration, emotional support during creative struggles, and motivation from knowing we’re all on this journey together. This community-driven approach is what sets LPM apart from other programs.
I want potential clients and students to know that my mission is to help them unlock their full creative potential. It’s not just about learning how to use a piece of software—it’s about gaining the confidence and knowledge to produce music that reflects their unique artistic vision. I’m passionate about helping my clients feel more in control of their creativity and empowering them to bring their musical visions to life.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first moved to Los Angeles from Toronto, I landed a job at The Firm, a prestigious entertainment management company in Beverly Hills. I was assisting the managers of some of the biggest acts in the world, including Snoop Dogg, The Dixie Chicks, Tears for Fears, and Miranda Lambert, among others. While it seemed like a dream job at first, being immersed in the high-profile world of these iconic artists, the reality of the business side of the music industry quickly set in. Despite the prestige, I realized I wasn’t aligned with the work, and I felt disconnected from the environment.
After months of pushing through, I came to the difficult realization that I wasn’t in the right place for long-term happiness or fulfillment. Eventually, I was let go from the job, which, in hindsight, turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was a turning point that forced me to reassess my career and my values. I found a new role as a drum circle facilitator at a local school, and that experience set me on the path to discovering my passion for teaching music and composing for film and TV. That pivot was crucial—it allowed me to reconnect with my true calling, align my career with my strengths, and ultimately led to the creation of the Logic Pro Mastermind
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
When I started the Logic Pro Mastermind (LPM), my beta group consisted of students and people I knew from my past—people who I had already delivered great value to in our previous interactions. Because of how I treat people, how I listen to them, and how I make them feel, combined with my expertise in music production and technology, it was easy to get the beta group up and running. I’ve always believed that trust and strong relationships are key, and the connections I’d built over the years really paid off.
Sticking to my own truths and staying honest—whether in my original music, teaching style, or even the ads I run for/to my business—has been a huge key to success that I learned early on. It’s really about being the most authentic version of yourself. But above all, it’s about over-delivering value to each and every one of my clients. My experience as a multi-instrumentalist and my deep understanding of the challenges my students face also allowed me to speak directly to their needs and provide solutions that felt relevant. When you’re doing something you love and sharing something you’re passionate about, it creates the perfect environment for success. LPM is a sanctuary for both my students and me—it’s a place where we all grow together, and that sense of community is something I couldn’t be prouder of.
