We were lucky to catch up with THIRD DAGREE recently and have shared our conversation below.
THIRD, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission at this point is quite obvious and long overdue! We must control the dial and change the narrative! In the fifty plus years of Hip Hop, the latter years of the genre has become the new plantation and a breeding ground for the old slave mentality in a modern environment! We are at a pivotal point where the voices of reason and logic have been muted and the roar of destruction has been amplified to the point that adults are justifying the miseducated behavior and the youth are being led by the blind! We must call out the person(s) who’s controlling the dial and cutting the checks, which also seem bogus, once the artist dies or goes to jail especially the ones without a monetized buzz or even a hit record! If we are to have any inkling of positivity for the future, I intend to act now and accordingly to rid the culture of these demonic spell casters!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve had a passion for music and fashion my whole life and my way with words and savvy with conversation and lingo was once frowned upon by those who failed to understand me, especially my parents, family, and school teachers. At times I found myself suppressing my gifts over lack of support from those whom I thought were to be in my corner, until I realized I was alone and all I had in this matter was myself! I put together my own campaign and aligned my product and brand with markets outside of my common area and in return became a global staple and a household name in Hip Hop as one of the front running pioneers for Arkansas’s urban culture, everything from fashion, music, commentary, and more! I’ve connected with major DJ’s, media outlets, and ;progressive platforms to showcase and promote my brand! I write music, engineer production, direct videos, scout talent, deliver commentary, mentor and keep a keen since of fashion all while creating my own lingo, such as keeping it cayenne!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’ve lost everything I’ve had time and time again, but thank God I didn’t loose my mind! Once I came to the realization that I was all I had I began go take every bit of mud thrown at me, to build my mountain for elevation! You can be good in the market that I’m in and receive praise and accolades from the peers, but if you show any inkling of being better than the competition then you could easily become the most hated and less celebrated! I’ve been a witness and a victim! Non the less my level of talent and resilience afforded me the ability to surpass all the obstacles and become the voice of Arkansas’s Urban Culture as well as the originator of grown rap! All things fashion, commentary, and music I fully study and deliver high quality content to the best of my ability and that how I’ve become labeled as “The Bosses Boss” in a stagnant market where self proclaimed titles are at an all time high and offering false hope in the market! I pride myself on living up to my name!

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Boundaries is one the biggest skill sets, that I was never taught, being raised as a people pleaser in a fatherless home led to a lack of security on knowing when and how to set boundaries on when to stay or when to leave, when to fight or when to catch flight! I had to garner this skill sets from countless years of being take advantage of and having to unlearn such a toxic emotional fully female state of mind! Boundaries are not just needed in business but more so in life, so that you can sustain and properly handle business! So please don’t be afraid to establish boundaries and stand on that!
