We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Renae Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Renae below.
Renae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
CoCoBella Natural is deeply rooted in a mission of empowerment, particularly for women navigating their natural hair journey. But beyond curls and coils, our mission is about helping women rediscover and reclaim their confidence.
The story behind that mission is personal for me. When I first returned to my natural texture, I was overwhelmed — not just by products and routines, but by years of messaging that told me my hair needed to be “fixed” to be acceptable. That internal struggle turned into a deep desire to create something that made other women feel seen, celebrated, and supported. What began as a passion project turned into CoCoBella Natural: a brand that champions authenticity, self-love, and inner strength.
Over time, I realized that while we were creating quality products, we were also building community. Through every product, post, and partnership, we’re helping women feel beautiful on the outside while igniting something even more powerful on the inside. That’s what makes our mission meaningful — it’s not just business, it’s deeply personal. We’re not just nourishing hair; we’re nurturing confidence.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Renae Williams, and I’m the founder of CoCoBella Natural — a beauty and wellness brand rooted in empowerment. While CoCoBella Natural is best known for its natural haircare products, the true heart of this brand is about helping women embrace their most authentic, powerful selves.
My journey into this space wasn’t planned — in fact, I’ve often been called the “accidental influencer.” I started sharing bits of my own natural hair journey online and was surprised by how many women connected with my story. I realized quickly that what they were responding to wasn’t just the hair tips — it was the honesty, the encouragement, and the reminder that they were enough, just as they are. That inspired me to create a product line that not only worked, but spoke to the woman using it. From there, CoCoBella Natural was born.
We offer a range of plant-powered haircare products designed for textured hair — from moisturizing cleansers and conditioners to treatments and stylers — but more than anything, we provide permission. Permission for women to show up fully as themselves, without apology. Through thoughtful ingredients, affirming messaging, and intentional partnerships, CoCoBella Natural is as much about inner healing as it is about outer beauty.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just sell products — we champion a lifestyle rooted in self-love, joy, and personal power. I’m proud that our customers feel seen when they interact with this brand. Whether it’s a woman newly transitioning to natural hair or someone rebuilding their confidence after a personal challenge, CoCoBella is here to support her journey.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built — one rooted in connection, transparency, and resilience. Every DM from a customer who says she felt beautiful again after using our products reminds me why I started.
If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that CoCoBella Natural is more than a beauty brand. It’s a movement. A love letter to every woman who’s ever doubted her worth — and a daily reminder that she is powerful, worthy, and beautifully made.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my reputation was built on consistency, transparency, and a genuine desire to serve — not just sell. From the very beginning, I’ve been honest about my journey, my wins, and even my missteps. That vulnerability helped me connect with my audience on a deeper level, and over time, that connection turned into trust.
I also made it a priority to listen — really listen — to the needs of my community. Whether it was refining a product based on feedback or creating content that spoke to the emotional side of the natural hair journey, I always wanted my audience to feel seen and heard. That responsiveness created a sense of loyalty and respect that I don’t take for granted.
Beyond that, I’ve always stayed true to my mission of empowerment. That through line — showing up consistently with the intention to uplift — is what I believe sets CoCoBella Natural apart and helped me build a reputation as someone who’s not just in business, but in purpose.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Honestly, I built my audience on social media by simply showing up as myself — consistently, authentically, and without a big strategy at first. I never set out to become an influencer. I was just a woman sharing her natural hair journey, the products that worked for me, and the emotions that came with learning to love myself fully. That vulnerability is what people connected with. It wasn’t about being perfectly curated — it was about being real.
The turning point came when I realized that my story was resonating with women who looked like me, who had been told for years that their natural beauty wasn’t enough. I wasn’t just sharing hair tips — I was creating a safe space for conversation, encouragement, and sisterhood. That connection naturally grew into a community, and eventually, into a customer base when I launched CoCoBella Natural.
My advice for anyone starting to build their presence on social media is this: focus on connection, not perfection. You don’t need a huge following to make an impact — you need trust, relatability, and a clear sense of why you’re showing up. Share your journey, invite people into the process, and don’t be afraid to evolve out loud. The right audience will find you — and they’ll stay if they feel seen, valued, and inspired.
