We’ve always tried to ask the questions that matter but that are too awkward for people to ask their friends, family and coworkers without seeming dramatic. One of those questions is about mission and purpose – when’s the last time you asked a friend what their mission was? Too often we don’t talk about our own missions and don’t ask those close to us about theirs with the result being that our missions remain secret. Are you just a doctor or are you a doctor who wants to be there for patients in the way you wished your father’s doctor had been? People have incredible and meaningful missions, and we hope our conversations asking folks about their mission can inspire more such conversations in your life.

My mission as a medical wig provider is deeply rooted in personal loss and a profound commitment to enhancing the lives of those experiencing medical hair loss. I am driven by the desire to honor my friend’s memory by creating wigs that not only restore physical beauty but also renew the spirit and confidence of those facing similar battles. Our mission at Resonate With Aideenn is to empower individuals to reconnect with their true voice and live in alignment with their deepest values. This mission is deeply meaningful to us because it’s rooted in my personal journey of transformation and self-discovery. For years, I struggled with self-doubt, unsure of my place in the world and the value I had to offer. My passion for singing and the desire to express myself authentically was often overshadowed by fear and insecurity. When I was 28, I was asked what my dream was and I replied ‘I want to be a singer but I can’t do that.’ My own doubts and disbelief were preventing me from taking any steps toward my goal. But through years of personal growth, guided by a commitment to meditation, spiritual exploration, and a deep dive into psychology, I began to dissolve the barriers that held me back. Read more>>

With a background as a public school art educator, I found myself yearning for opportunities that offered meaningful intersection for my identities as an artist, an educator and an environmentalist. Mid-pandemic I made a career pivot to pursue floral design. Now I see the Earth as the ultimate provider for my art materials – perennial and annual plants and grasses – I am grateful for the interconnectedness of my community’s ecosystem, sourcing locally and using seasonal plants from urban farms, specialty-cut flower farms, and even my own garden. During our midwest dormancy season I source American-grown flowers from a flower wholesaler. Read more>>

Let’s Be Friends was born out of a deep personal need for connection. Bridget Sullivan started the group in 2020 after realizing how difficult it was to make genuine friendships as an adult, especially when moving to a new city. Emily Lintott joined at the beginning of 2024, and together we’ve watched the group grow into a community of over 7,600 women who come together to support each other, attend events, and form lasting relationships. This mission is so meaningful to us because it reflects our own experiences of isolation and the challenges of forming friendships as adults. We know firsthand how loneliness can affect mental health and well-being, and that’s why we’re driven to create opportunities for women to connect in real life. Read more>>

The mission behind my business stems from a personal belief that everyone should have the opportunity to express their vision, regardless of their resources or access to technology. This mission is deeply meaningful to me because, during my time at Woodbury University, I faced several challenges and failures. However, the one thing that gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment was helping others realize their creative ideas and complete their projects. I discovered that I had a passion in supporting others in expressing their vision, especially when they lack the tools to do so themselves. This experience shaped my commitment to providing the guidance and resources people need to bring their ideas to life. Read more>>

When I was young I witnessed my grandmother be in an abusive relationship. She used to tell me how she lost herself throughout the years. When I was around eight years old she left him after being married for over thirty years. She was not only physically, but mentally abused. Every day she and my parents would tell me how beautiful I was and never let anyone else tell me any different. Those words have been instilled in me for life and I promised her, my parents, and myself that I would never let anyone make me think any less of myself. The strength that my grandmother showed by leaving a situation even though she experienced that type of treatment all of her adult life. I will always admire her strength and self-determination to be an example for her children and grandchildren. When I face obstacles in life I always remind myself of what my grandmother and parents taught me I am beautiful, smart, and confident, and for me to never think any less of myself. I have made it a priority to tell my daughter, family, students, clients, and mentees as often as possible that they are B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. and never think any less of themselves no matter who tells them they are any less. When my son, Kevin, was born with Down Syndrome in 1989 I was overwhelmed and and struggled with despair. I couldn’t see any possibility for a happy or fulfilling life nor could I get passed the diagnosis. I became isolated and only had the energy to care for my child; not much more. I returned to work but didn’t have any zest or motivation. As I started to talk to others I found myself sharing my story and got so much love and encouragement. And it continued. As my son grew I was slowly connecting with others both inside and outside the disability community. What was once a tragedy started to become an opportunity to learn more about Down Syndrome. And the learning continues today! I found small victories to celebrate and started sharing those successes. Instead of feeling bound by the Down Syndrome diagnosis I was starting to live. I found that people were not just curious but interested in this unique journey I was on and were very encouraging. By the time my son was in elementary school I was sharing about my extraordinary child with anyone who would listen. Read more>>

Have you ever come to a point in your life where you asked yourself, what is my purpose? Why am I here? What’s life all about? Why do certain things keep happening to me? Or simply, what the fuck happened? Where did I loose myself along the way of surviving in this life? I have and it came hand in hand with what some may call a midlife crisis. All my life I had been a people pleaser who wanted everyone to just get along and who wanted to be liked by every person she met. I had to wait until way into my adult life to accept that firstly, it’s impossible to accomplish and secondly, it’s unnecessary. It was a difficult period in my recent life that led me to making peace with it. Emotions like sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety, that I learned to suppress from a very young age on, were part of who I was no matter how much I tried to shove them down. From a very young age on I adapted to the fact that people seemed to love me more when I was happy and cheerful. Read more>>

Lady Konfidential traces its origins back to Eve’s Garden, a vision crafted by the remarkable women’s rights activist, Dell Williams, affectionately known as Lady Dell. Since its inception in 1974, our store has been a haven for women, offering an exclusive space free from clichés like penis-shaped straws and subpar vibrators. Lady Dell’s dream was to create a sanctuary where femininity was celebrated, and individual desires were respected I had read about her in an article and felt like I could relate immediately, when I was curious and was interested in buying my first vibrator about 30 years ago, which was not a comfortable experience. I felt strongly that it should not be this way and why are there only men present to assist me…I told myself there has to be a better way,a more comfortable, organic, transparent and nurturing experience and one day it will happen. My peaceful parenting journey began about halfway through my daughter’s four-month standard medical checkup. She was thriving, ahead on all her milestones. Smiling, rolling, babbling, and snuggling were her favorite pastimes. We were happily growing and learning together; she as a little human, and I as a new mama. My husband and I had chosen her first pediatrician wisely enough. He was the senior owner of his medical practice and had many years of experience. His wall was covered in accolades and advanced degrees; his résumé included being repeatedly voted as the best pediatrician in our city. A friend of ours used him for all three of her kids and loved him. And, as fate would have it, he happened to be the doctor assigned to check on all the newborns at the hospital the day our daughter was born, so we felt it was a sign that he was right for us. As the host of the Eternally Fantastic podcast and an Awareness Ignitor, my mission is to help people eliminate the barriers that block their true love for life. These limits, shaped by societal conditioning from parents, caregivers, friends, and partners, accumulate over the years. But when you break free from those limitations, you feel an incredible sense of freedom — you can truly be yourself and do anything. I want everyone to experience this kind of freedom and to embrace the highest vibrations of love. That’s my life’s purpose. When I’m on my deathbed, I won’t be thinking about money, accomplishments, or the things that fade away. What will matter most are the feelings I’ve experienced and the people I’ve helped to feel the same. Read more>>

Food is meant to be enjoyed! We started with the genuine desire of sharing high quality ingredients that are also delicious and nutritious. We put lots of love and careful thought into what we do, we combine knowledge, talent and good taste to deliver the warm feeling of a nice home-cooked meal. OUR VERSION OF HEALTHY Moderation is the key to longevity and perhaps the most difficult thing to cultivate. But not with The Vegan Bella. We don’t follow food fads or diet trends. We believe food is neither bad nor good; food is a neutral source upon which we prescribe meaning based on our own inclinations. We believe it is always the dose, not the dish, that makes the medicine (or, in some cases, poison). We believe consuming most foods moderately and modestly makes a healthy human. Read more>>

We’re passionate about creating those connections and inspiring others to see Halloween as more than a single day—it’s a lifestyle. Read more>>

I am the owner of MainlyPiano.com, a review and interview website that revolves “mainly” around the piano and people who play and compose music for it. I also proof-read a lot of sheet music for piano. How I got here is kind of unusual, but it involved a lot of different influences and experiences. My “mission” is to give some of the lesser-known artists more exposure and to get more people to love piano music. I also hope to expose more people to artists whose music doesn’t fit neatly into one category, as they are some of the most creative people around and are often lost in the shuffle of more commercial music. I love what I do and find it extremely rewarding. Read more>>

It’s always an honor to give back, I’m speaking on a topic that’s deeply personal to me—mentorship, community building, hospitality and giving back in ways that truly matter. You see, my journey started with challenges many can’t imagine. At just 10 years old, though working hard and going to school things were a little difficult for my mother with 2 children and unfortunately we found ourselves homeless in Brooklyn for two years. Yet, even in those difficult times, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a mentoring program that didn’t just take me out of my circumstances temporarily—it planted seeds of hope. I found I had a passion for art and creating sensational Hot Plate meals for my sister and I while my determined mother was making a way for us to gain permanent residence. A community program gave me exposure to art lessons, mentorship, and opportunities I could have only dreamed of during that time. I attended art lessons at Pratt Institute and my family went camping with other families. These experiences showed me the power of a supportive community. Read more>>

I have always been in love with fashion and I have had the pleasure of experiencing almost every facet. I have had the honor of working and attending multiple fashion week events, managing my own shows, working wholesale, e commerce, luxury wardrobe styling, AND photography. I basically just jumped in where I was needed in New York and LA and made the most of my connections. I was always genuinely curious about how different facets of the fashion industry worked and how the departments worked together. I think a lot of my connections came from just being genuinely curious about other people and always being willing to learn. Read more>>

The mission of Great Gale, LLC is to empower kings and queens to seize greatness! The story behind the mission stems from transforming lives. Through the darkest years of my life, faith in God and motivation propelled me to win. It gave me that drive to keep going no matter what and finish what I started. My mentors helped me transform for the better. To live a full life, leaving your mark and dying on E. So I decided I wanted to help others achieve transformation in there life. It’s like what Langston Hughes once said, “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” If you want to fly, you need the wind! That’s why my business’ core tenet is the Second Wind Phenomenon. When you are physically exhausted and feel you can’t go anymore, the second wind is an internal drive. An upsurge of energy from deep within that helps power you through your goal! Read more>>

The story behind my mission is rooted in years of martial arts training, instructing, and personal growth. Shotokan Karate gave me more than just physical strength – it became a way of life, shaping how I approach challenges, relationships, and self-discipline. But there came a point when I realized that the real value of what I’d learned wasn’t just in the dojo. It was in how these principles – focus, resilience, and mindfulness – could help people in all aspects of life. After living in Asia and experiencing how different cultures approached wellness and balance, I wanted to bring something deeper to the world. That’s why we founded The Path Retreats. We offer more than just relaxation; we guide attendees through transformative experiences. Whether it’s through breathwork at sunrise or martial movement overlooking the Mayan Ruins, our goal is to guide others toward self-discovery and healing. The Path Retreats is about creating space for people to reconnect with themselves, push their limits, and leave feeling stronger and more grounded. We don’t just host retreats – we design journeys. It’s an honor! Read more>>
