We were lucky to catch up with Yolanda Rawlings recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Yolanda, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of Just B U Inc. is to empower women to reach their full potential through health education, personal development, and a supportive community. We provide transformative workshops, empowering retreats, and meaningful networking opportunities that help women grow, thrive, and live with confidence. Central to our mission is raising awareness about women’s health issues, including HIV awareness and prevention, creating a space where women can prioritize their well-being and live purpose-driven lives.
This mission is deeply personal to me. After receiving an unexpected diagnosis, I had to learn everything about my health, which marked the first time I truly put myself first. I realized I had been constantly prioritizing others and knew very little about women’s health. What struck me even more was that no one wanted to talk about these issues openly. This realization pushed me out of my comfort zone, inspiring me to create a safe environment where women can talk, learn, share, and educate one another—normalizing these important conversations.

Yolanda, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Let me tell you a bit about Yolanda and the story behind Just B U Inc. Yolanda’s journey into self-health and women’s health began with a deeply personal experience. After receiving an unexpected diagnosis, she realized how much she needed to learn about her own health and how often she had been prioritizing others over herself. This eye-opening moment sparked her passion for women’s health, especially in areas like HIV awareness and prevention. She recognized that many women, like herself, knew very little about these critical health topics and found that these conversations were often avoided. Determined to change that, Yolanda created Just B U Inc. as a safe space for women to talk, learn, and share their experiences openly, normalizing discussions around women’s health.
Just B U Inc. provides a variety of services aimed at empowering women through health education, personal development, and community support. We offer transformative workshops, empowering retreats, and opportunities for meaningful networking, all designed to help women grow, thrive, and live more confidently. Our focus is not only on personal development but also on addressing crucial health topics like HIV awareness and prevention, ensuring that women have the knowledge and tools to prioritize their well-being.
The problems we solve for our clients are often related to self-neglect, a lack of awareness about women’s health, and the absence of supportive spaces for open conversations. We help women overcome these challenges by providing education, tools, and community, allowing them to take charge of their health and personal development in a holistic way.
What sets us apart from others is our unique approach that combines health education with personal growth, wrapped in a community-driven environment. We don’t just focus on one aspect of well-being; we tackle both physical and emotional health while fostering a network of women who can support each other.
I am most proud of the transformations I’ve seen in the women who have engaged with Just B U Inc.—women who have embraced their health, their worth, and their potential in ways they never thought possible. Seeing them take ownership of their lives and inspire others has been incredibly rewarding.
For potential clients, followers, or fans, the main thing I want you to know is that Just B U Inc. is a place where you can truly put yourself first, embrace your journey, and connect with a community of women on the same path. We are here to support you, empower you, and help you become the best version of yourself, inside and out.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn was privacy. I used to believe that keeping my emotions to myself was the best way to handle things. When I first started my nonprofit, I was grieving the loss of my husband. I would cry in private—whether in the shower, in the car, or anywhere no one could see me. But one day, I grew tired of holding it all in. I made the decision to fully embrace what I was feeling, regardless of where I was or who I was with. That transparency, that openness to feeling, was when my healing truly began. Now, I encourage others to simply feel—to allow themselves to experience their emotions—because healing often comes from being free, from “Just B-ing U.”

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe that transparency is what has built my reputation in my business. I don’t just say the words—I live them. I show it through my actions and by sharing my personal experiences. I’m an open book. My clients see that I practice what I preach. They hear me asking the same questions I encourage them to ask, and they see me in the room, sitting at the table, with no judgment—because I approach everything with the mindset of “it could be me” or “it is me.” This openness creates a safe space where clients feel comfortable and empowered to open up as well.
