We were lucky to catch up with Euwarnii Hughes recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Euwarnii, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of Great Gale, LLC is to empower kings and queens to seize greatness! The story behind the mission stems from transforming lives. Through the darkest years of my life, faith in God and motivation propelled me to win. It gave me that drive to keep going no matter what and finish what I started.
My mentors helped me transform for the better. To live a full life, leaving your mark and dying on E.
So I decided I wanted to help others achieve transformation in there life.
It’s like what Langston Hughes once said, “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.” If you want to fly, you need the wind!
That’s why my business’ core tenet is the Second Wind Phenomenon. When you are physically exhausted and feel you can’t go anymore, the second wind is an internal drive. An upsurge of energy from deep within that helps power you through your goal!

Hey kings and queens, my name is Euwarnii Hughes.
I am the CEO of Great Gale. As well as an Author, Self-Publishing Coach, and Graphic designer.
I got into graphic design from my degree in college. But after a decade of experience in this field I noticed a gap in the manga industry. So I utilized all my creative skills to produce & self publish an Afrofuturism manga called BOLDSAGA that celebrates African culture! A manga that inspires & empowers the next generation of young kings and queens! With the help of God and my wife I created a story about underdogs rising.
BOLDSAGA follows Masego, a meek teen unashamed to follow his dreams. To be the next Anansi like his role model, Shaka Zulu. But first he has to overcome tests, trials and a rite of passage that leads to a supernatural encounter where he finds out what it truly means to be BOLD. So join Masego & friends’ epic adventure to stop a galactic alien empire. Who will be first to find the ancient relic left by Shaka Zulu?
This story mirrors my life. Most successes I’ve reached have been hard fought. Life has placed me as the underdog time and time again. But instead of running from the problem, I faced it head on. And I imbue this same passion and relentlessness into my work.
We currently have 4 chapters available in paperback and ebook, an audiobook for chapter 1 and 4 coloring books. In fact we have self-published 14 books cover to cover over the last 6 years.

What I’m most honored and proud of is completing BOLDSAGA Ch 1. That first book allowed me to become an author. But it wasn’t easy.
It took me 20 months to complete the first chapter, when I was 90% done the pandemic happened, my grand father passed away and I had to work on his funeral program in the Caribbean.
I had 2 choices. Give up and grieve or…honor him and finish.
That’s why Chapter 1 begins with a quote he once told me, “Days may be dark but still don’t give up.”
Don’t wait for the perfect moment, hold on to your dreams and fight to keep moving forward.
No matter what.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I wish I knew the power of systems earlier. Connie Falls once said, “Systems are self-care.” and I wholeheartedly agree. I used to think that the only way to work was just grinding and hustling. But that doesn’t guarantee success. It just 100% guarantees you’ll be tired.
Instead, systems work for you to help propel you forward. You could dm every single person the link to your offer or book. Or you could automate it with Manychat or MobileMonkey for a fee.
You could post countless YouTube videos to get more views and increase your Know, Like and Trust Factor. Or you could use vidIQ to get priceless insights and make videos that can go Viral faster. All for a fee.
You could try and reinvent the wheel and be different in business, while going around in circles for decades with little progress. Or you could read books by Myron Golden, Les Brown, Alex Hormozi, Russell Brunson and more to help turn decades into days in your business.
Since time is the only commodity we can’t get back (and we have no idea how much life we have left) using Systems to buy back our time is critical.
If I had known about this earlier, I would have been 100x better off and further ahead.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the lessons I had to unlearn was trying to do it all. Sometimes when you are in Startup mode for a business, you wear many hats. You think you’ll have to be the salesman, customer support, the DM support, the email marketer, the graphic designer, and so on. But that will get you exhausted and lead to burn out and fatigue.
Instead, tap into your second wind. Take a breath and work with someone else who is a master at your weaknesses.
Once I unlearned the Do It all mindset, I felt more free.
Now, there may be some new skills you will have to learn in your journey. But don’t think you have to do it all. Even if you have to start with wearing many hats, keep doing it successfully and delegate that to another person. Focus on your One Thing!
I learned that delegation and automation are more powerful than just hustle and grinding with no strategy.
