In our view there is already a ton of coverage of the trends that ivory tower professors and billionaire fund managers are seeing. What’s the edge in hearing the billionaire consensus view over and over again?
The edge comes from hearing new perspectives and new information like from the wedding planner who has worked with hundreds of couples during the pandemic and has noticed that couples are allocating significantly more of their wedding budgets on “small details” like personalized neon signs and eco-friendly customized digital invitations rather than paper invites. Or the accountant seeing how there’s a huge uptick in ecommerce clients generating revenue from in person popups.
Below, you’ll find some of the most thoughtful entrepreneurs and creatives in across various industries and markets sharing the trends they are seeing.

One of the most significant trends I’ve seen in the executive assistant industry is an increasing recognition among leaders and CEOs of the need for support. Traditionally, many top executives have prided themselves on their ability to handle multiple tasks and heavy workloads independently. However, there’s a growing realization that this approach isn’t always the most effective or sustainable. Read more>>

I have to admit, I was late to the party on the importance of social media in the ability to find our customers/clients out there. I started my real estate career as a licensed assistant to a top producer in Las Vegas in 1997. As you can imagine it was a much different and more “traditional” market regarding getting and keeping leads. My boss spent large amounts of money on printing postcards & neighborhood reports and then mailing those, as well as advertising in magazines. She was a luxury agent so she even took out ads in the Wall Street Journal. When I started on my own in Seattle I was cash poor so I did the free stuff, sat open houses, knocked on doors of expired listings, nurtured my database as I built it etc. Read more>>

Our world has drastically changed from when we were children. The universe our kids are growing up in is fundamentally different. Many families are dual income families, our education system is more rigorous, there is limited “villages”, less generational support, more pressure to “keep kids busy/ in a million activities”. COVID, and an overall increase in emotional distress in children and familes. One of the largest trends we are seeing in our office is an increase in childhood anxiety, feelings of inadequancy and overall family stress. It is harder to be a child than it ever has been before. As a parents, we think we are making our kids lives easier by doing everything for them, paying for the best private schools, putting them on the elite club team but in reality we could be contributing to the underlying emotional problems of our society. One of the biggest trends I’m seeing in the interior design industry is the incorporation of trees and plants indoors, with the olive tree being a standout choice. This trend adds a sense of nature and serenity to interiors, creating a bridge between the indoor and outdoor worlds. Another key trend is the rise of curved furniture, especially sofas, which soften the overall look of a space, creating a welcoming and fluid atmosphere. Additionally, there’s a growing focus on mixing natural materials like marble, wood, glass, mirrors, and fabrics. This combination allows for a more tactile and visually interesting space, with different textures and finishes coming together to create harmony. Read more>>

One of the biggest trends I’m seeing right now in the interior design industry is the rise of wellness focused design. It’s no longer just about creating a beautiful space, it’s about creating an environment that improves the mental and physical health of the people living there. From infrared saunas in bathrooms to skin care devices once reserved for high-end spas now being integrated into home designs, wellness is truly at the forefront of luxury living. I actually worked on a project recently where a client wanted to transform their home into a sanctuary of wellness. So, we designed this incredible space that included a steam room, an infrared sauna, a pilates room, and even a meditation room with grounding materials to create a deep sense of calm. It wasn’t just about the aesthetics; it was about how the design could enhance their well-being on a daily basis. I think that’s the opportunity here—homes becoming a place of healing and restoration, not just a place to live. Read more>>

As a casino streamer and influencer, I’ve witnessed firsthand how traditional marketing methods like TV ads and magazine print have lost their edge in reaching modern audiences. Today’s casino marketing is being revolutionized by short-form viral content on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. These bite-sized clips capture attention quickly and spread rapidly, reaching millions of potential customers who prefer quick, engaging content over more static, long-form advertising. I remember speaking with a casino executive who was skeptical of this shift until they saw one of my TikTok videos highlighting a slot jackpot. Within hours, it garnered over 10,000 views, bringing significant attention to the casino without any of the costs of traditional ads. This trend opens up tremendous opportunities for casinos to connect with a younger, tech-savvy audience, but there are also challenges. Read more>>

One of the most significant trends we’re observing in the wedding industry is the shift from traditional videographers to content creators. This change reflects a broader cultural shift in how people document and share their special moments. Let me illustrate this trend with a recent experience: This past summer, we worked with a couple who initially approached us looking for a videographer. However, as we discussed their vision, it became clear that what they really wanted was a comprehensive content strategy for their wedding as well as a video they can relive throughout time. Their goal wasn’t just to document the wedding but to create a suite of shareable, platform-specific content that would allow them to relive their day through the lens of social media so we hired a content creator. I think the biggest trend that everybody is talking in filmmaking is the rise of Artificial Intelligence in the process of making movies. A.I is very divisive right now in the industry as recently it was a key issue for the SAG and WGA strike. While the strike is over right now, the industry still hasn’t picked up at its full potential. Meanwhile, the growth of A.I has being exponential from A.I made photos and now videos. I personally believe A.I is an opportunity to improve our workflow so that we can focus on being more creative. A.I has being used in sound designing for quite some time as a noise reduction tool and plug ins which can modulate voices and it is now being used in every major motion picture and TV show. This has given post production sound professionals the necessary tools to use a line of dialogue or maybe make the sound of a spaceship flying by from a tea kettle going on. A.I has allowed us to be more creative and more faster in the way we do things and I don’t think it can write movies for us and act in movies but rather should be used as a tool in our workflows. There are two trends that have converged in the music business, most easily visible on the live side but existing to an extent on the recorded side as well, a certain zero-sum mindset paired with vertical integration. The first has been going on for a long time but is reaching its nadir. We are living with the inevitable detrimental effects of what is essentially a failure for the stakeholders in the business to behave as though they live in an interconnected ecosystem. In the concert business, it is accepted as an often well-justified fact that artists will receive the overwhelming lion’s share of the revenue from ticket sales, 80, 90 percent or more. Read more>>

The real estate industry is constantly evolving, and staying up-to-date with current marketing trends can give agents a competitive edge. Here are some of the current marketing trends in real estate: 1. **Virtual Tours and 3D Walkthroughs**

In the pet industry, we are seeing several significant trends, particularly around the growing demand for more natural and healthy dog food and treats. Pet parents are increasingly seeking products with no fillers, no additives, and all-natural ingredients that contribute to their pets’ overall well-being. They are becoming more conscious of what goes into their pets’ diets, looking for options that are closer to what nature intended. Read more>>

At the moment, the biggest trend that catches my attention is the explosion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for practical applications, particularly, in the entertainment industry. There are mixed reactions from the public about this development, but I will concentrate on my observation of how it can be useful. AI, particularly generative AI is a remarkable tool for pre-visualization. Whether you make storyboards, director’s lookbooks, or character sketches. It simply saves time and allows to generate an image close to your specific needs. Since all the pre-vis work is a stepping stone to the final product, film, it is absolutely a game-changer for creators who don’t have access to the costly crew, allowing them to create projects they couldn’t in the past. The automotive industry has undergone significant transformation in recent years. We’ve witnessed a surge of new OEMs revolutionizing the market with groundbreaking innovations and daring approaches, propelling the industry forward with remarkable designs. The rise of electric vehicles, advancements in in-vehicle interaction, and rapid progress in autonomous driving technology are reshaping the landscape. However, one of the most pivotal changes, from my perspective, is the evolving relationship between humans and vehicles driven by autonomous technology. This is not merely a technical shift but a profound philosophical transformation that will fundamentally alter the industry. As policies and technologies for autonomous vehicles mature, our focus will shift from “how we drive the car” to “how the car drives us.” This shift represents a significant change in user expectations. Instead of concentrating on the mechanics of braking and accelerating, our emphasis will increasingly be on how effectively the vehicle makes decisions on the road. This evolution will undoubtedly usher in a new era for the automotive industry. Read more>>
