In February 2024, I decided to take action and create Decoding Darier’s. I have had a Rare Skin Disease for 20 years and the community of people is very small. I found it reached a point that to connect with those that have Darier’s disease I had to help create the community. There are many pages for patients with Rare Disease but I wanted to create a page that would allows for patients to share their story and help uplift them. The biggest defining moment would be when I completely shifted my career from being a full time musician to a full time massage/lymphatic therapist and energy healer. I get satisfaction from helping people but during my time of performing music, I had a wonderful outlet for my creative release, however, I was missing the moments where what I offered actually helped people in the moments they needed it the most. Music has always been and will always be a huge part of me, and I’m not sure I’ll ever stop performing fully. Music is also extremely healing for the soul, but the healing happened behind closed doors, it wasn’t something that I got to see in real time so even though I loved performing, there was still something missing. My health coaching story begins when I was in my late 20s. After a series of failed toxic relationships, I found myself dealing with some pretty uncomfortable and embarrassing digestive issues that kept getting worse despite me eating “healthier”. Doctors couldn’t figure out what my issues were so I set out on a quest to figure it out myself. After discovering my previously unknown food sensitivities, I researched gut health and how it affects people (especially their moods) for over a decade. I had been an esthetician by trade for over 20 years but during Covid, I seized my opportunity and went back to school to pursue my other passion and got certified as a health coach.
