Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trina. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Trina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I would say that I am happy being a creative and an artist. But I do think there is a time in everyone’s life where they wonder what it would be like if they chose a different career path. I do sometimes wonder what that would be like, especially since I am in college and have switched my major a few times. I originally wanted to go into the medical field and have since switched to being in the fine arts. I was wondering a few months ago actually what it would be like if I had pursued medical. I think I would have liked it, however I believe we always end up where we are supposed to be. And that just isn’t the path that I was supposed to be on right now (not crossing it off for the future though). It is never too late to try something new, so if being an artist and creative don’t work for me then I can always try something new.

Trina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi I’m Trina! I’m currently a senior Design and Psychology major and am about to graduate this May. I got into the industry because I have always loved being creative ever since I was little, I was always walking around recording with a camera. So, when covid happened it gave me the perfect time to try diving into something new. That ended up being Youtube which then became other social media platforms. My content is mostly my life such as my outfits, or gym routines. I just like to keep it very authentic and real. I’m proud of the things that I have accomplished having a smaller following. The main things that I want my followers to know about me is that you will never get bored when you follow me. My friends and followers all know that I am always on some adventure or trying something new!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is getting to see how I benefit other people. My goal at the end of the day is always to inspire and motivate others in anyway that I can. This can be anything from helping someone feel confident going to the gym, or wearing fun and creative outfits. I love when I get dms or comments from people saying a way that I have impacted them, because then I know that I am doing something right! Life is too short to not leave a positive impact on the world in some way.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Oh 100%! There are so many resources that I learned about years into my creative journey that I wish I had known sooner. Such as editing software like CapCut. That has been one of my favorites that I discovered this year as it is so easy to use and you can do it on your phone. I also love apps like PicsArt and LightRoom for editing pictures and creating unique posts for Instagram. I would say taking the time to research different things like apps, podcasts, and tutorials to help you along your journey is going to be very helpful.
