Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelli LANEÉ. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kelli, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Through KL, I combine fashion, storytelling, and purpose-driven design to create pieces that inspire identity, confidence, and spiritual connection. This project represents more than a business to me—it is a calling to use creativity as a tool to impact culture and help people encounter God in everyday life.

Kelli, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I entered the fashion and creative industry through a deep personal journey of identity, healing, and faith. I have always been drawn to design, visual storytelling, and creating experiences that move people emotionally. Over time, I realized that my creativity was not just a talent—it was a calling. I started KL as a way to merge faith, culture, and creativity in a space where people could see God represented authentically, boldly, and beautifully through modern fashion and visual expression.
KL is both a clothing brand and a creative company. We design apparel and creative pieces that carry meaning, intention, and spiritual depth. Our work centers on storytelling—using design, imagery, and brand experiences to communicate hope, identity, and purpose. In addition to apparel, I also provide creative direction, brand visuals, and artistic concepts for individuals, brands, and organizations that want their message to be clear, impactful, and aligned with their values.
The problem I solve for my clients and community is clarity and connection. Many brands struggle to communicate who they truly are, and many people struggle to see themselves reflected in faith-based spaces in a way that feels relevant, creative, and culturally aware. KL bridges that gap. I help clients translate their vision into visual language that resonates with real people, while creating products and content that allow faith to be experienced—not just spoken about.
What sets me apart is that I do not approach fashion or branding as trends or aesthetics alone. Every project begins with purpose. I design from a place of meaning, prayer, and intentionality. My work is rooted in authenticity, excellence, and spiritual alignment. I believe creativity is one of the most powerful tools to reach people who may never walk into a church, and I intentionally build KL at the intersection of faith, culture, and contemporary design.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I had the vision for the brand long before I had the resources, connections, or confidence to fully execute it. I was creating, designing, and planning while also trying to keep up with real life—financial pressure, uncertainty about whether this could truly become something sustainable, and the constant comparison that comes with being in the fashion and creative industry.
There was a season where I seriously questioned if I should pause the brand altogether. Progress felt slow. Some opportunities I prayed for didn’t materialize. I watched other brands grow faster, get more visibility, and receive support I was still waiting for. Internally, I struggled with whether my work even mattered.
What made this moment different was my decision not to quit—even when it would have been easier to step back and choose something more predictable.
Instead of shutting KL down, I simplified everything. I went back to the original purpose: building a brand that brings people closer to who God is and who He created them to be. I stopped chasing what the industry said I needed and focused on creating work that was aligned, honest, and meaningful—even if it meant slower growth.
That season taught me how to build from conviction instead of validation.
Resilience, for me, hasn’t looked like pushing harder every time. It has looked like staying obedient when results were quiet, staying creative when momentum felt low, and continuing to show up for the vision when no one else could see what I was building yet.
KL exists today because I chose consistency over discouragement—and purpose over pressure.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is that I get to be used by God—the real GOAT of creation.
It’s deeply meaningful to know that my creativity isn’t just mine. I see my work as a partnership with the ultimate Creator. Every design, concept, and story I create is an opportunity for God to move through my hands and reach people in ways words alone sometimes can’t. I’m most fulfilled when I realize that something I created helped someone feel seen, encouraged, or reconnected to their purpose.
Being an artist allows me to take what God places in my spirit and translate it into something people can experience visually and emotionally. That’s what makes it rewarding for me—knowing that my creativity can point back to Him and remind others that they, too, were created with intention.
