We recently connected with Kait Martin and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kait thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I’ve been an athlete my whole life. I grew up competing in basketball, cross-country, and track & field, helping lead junior high and high school teams to state championships. I continue my track & field career into college, competing at Eastern Illinois University for three years (graduated early). I then transitioned into Crossfit and running Spartan races in early adulthood. I’ve been doing Crossfit for 10+ years now and these days you can find me coaching at a Crossfit box, training for my first full marathon (March 1, 2026) and training for my first HYROX (March 26).
A defining moment for me was when I became a mom. Society tries to tell us we’ll never be the same after having kids and I’ve built my entire brand around encouraging women that they won’t be the same – they’ll be BETTER versions of themselves. After having my first son, I got in the best shape of my life (and I was a D1 athlete in college). I learned how to dial in my nutrition and healing techniques for my core and pelvic floor that inspired me to become certified as both a nutrition coach and pregnancy/postpartum coach.
Roughly a year ago, I officially started my own health and wellness business, offering nutrition coaching, at-home programming, personal training, and hosting classes at my home gym. In October I took it online to offer an app/website with personalized programming.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I feel like I grouped a lot of this into the last answered but essentially I’ve been a life-long athlete and have never stopped competing – with others, or against myself. Crossfit was the perfect transition from track into adulthood where I could still compete.
What sets my business apart is my work ethic. I would never instruct my clients to do a workout, movement, or follow a nutrition plan that I myself haven’t already followed or tried. I believe in leading by example. What many clients have told me is I serve as the accountability piece they’ve been searching for.
I’m proud that I truly lead by example. My goal in life is raising mentally, spiritually, and physically strong and healthy kids, as well as making health a priority in my family as a whole. I wake up each day ready to lead the way for my kids and husband.
I think I relate the most to, and have a passion for, serving busy moms. Running two businesses (my fitness business and marketing business) as well as being a full time stay at home mom and wife, I know the definition of busy and when searching for ways to make my life easier, I strive to share those tips and habits with other moms.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Living and looking the part. I truly lead by example, often testing my own programming, making sure my nutrition plans work, and practicing the healing pregnancy and postpartum movements I provide.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Trial and error. No one’s perfect. You start somewhere, most likely suck it up, Try again, and again, and however many more times you need until you figure it out. A fake it until you make it mentality.
