The project is the story of the 6th Marine Regiment’s “40 Thieves” and their role in the WWII Battle of Saipan.
Like most men of his era my father rarely discussed World War II. The exception to that rule was when he looked at old photographs. There was a magazine clipping of him with another USS Maryland football player captioned “Fleet Stars” with “Goofy Guthrie” handwritten underneath. Dad would point at the other player and say, “He died on Wake.” Read More>>

The most meaningful and challenging project I’ve undertaken is undoubtedly my first feature film, Bottled Up (originally titled Game of Love). I produced and directed it. It’s a comedy of errors set entirely in one house over the course of a single night, following a group of people who have placed their love in all the wrong places. The film explores love in its most misguided forms—heartbreak, miscommunication, and the irrational hope that often follows. Read More>>

The most meaningful project I have ever worked on is a piece of music that I wrote for my mom. It is called “We Fly Together”. I wrote it in a time of turmoil for my family, and working on that piece really was a nice step away from all the chaos that was going on at the time. Read More>>

Designing a custom tattoo is a deeply personal process for many individuals. I have consultations with almost all of my custom clients because I want to make sure I can capture the vision they have for their tattoo. I’m a huge animal lover and animal themed projects always have such a special place in my heart. I’ve been so lucky to be able to collaborate with a number of clients to immortalize their fur babies. Tattooing dogs and cats is always challenging and rewarding Read More>>

I opened my art business for about 5 years now and my main struggle has been finding a niche that suited my goals and passions. I have been a cyclist for most of my life, being a cross country mountain bike racer since middle school and being in the industry professionally for a little over a year now. While my job in a shop is relatively lucrative, it has helped me to recognize a huge gap in a niche market. Bicycle painting. I frequently get asked if we “have this bike in a different color” or that customers want a ride that “suits them”, and I realized this was something I could offer. Read More>>

In addition to Microsoft Places, the AI-powered workplace platform I designed at Microsoft to support coordination and well-being for millions of hybrid employees, one of the most meaningful personal projects I’ve worked on is EMO+—a board game I co-created with my friend Xingxue Wang to help autistic adults and their loved ones better understand each other through emotional storytelling and role-play. The most meaningful project I’ve worked on Is my current body of work, fusion of artistic practices incorporating performance art and 2D visual art. Combining my passion for improvisational dance and my lifelong visual arts practice, over the past 5 years I have been building a body of mixed media drawings that celebrate creative expression through movement, nature, and our connection to nature as humans. The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my BFA final show, “A Fray to Mend.” It was more than just a capstone; it became a turning point for me as both an artist and a person. The project centered around themes of mental health, healing, vulnerability, and symbolism, using embroidery, lace-making, and painting to explore emotional repair through the language of textiles. The most meaningful project I have ever been a part of is the creation of my cheerleading clinics for people of all abilities. I have been a cheerleader throughout high school — and will cheer for the University of Miami — and was the president of my high school’s Best Buddies (BB) chapter. Best Buddies is an international nonprofit focusing on the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Read More>>

The Art of Letting Go, a two-person exhibition I co-led at Atlantic Works Gallery, remains one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever been part of. Coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Month, the show invited people into an emotional space—not just to view, but to participate. By creating a special installation, guests were encouraged to write down something they needed to release and leave it behind – to be later lit on fire as a sign of release and transformation. Every project I work on is meaningful to someone. When you think of flowers, you can’t help but think of expressions of love. While we often give flowers to loved ones on Valentine’s Day, they also play a role in some of life’s biggest milestones. A bouquet of flowers is carried down the aisle of a wedding to symbolize the love between two people. We send flowers to a memorial service to express our love for someone who is no longer with us. The first full album I produced was ‘Smokehouse’ by Kaleidoscope Records. I had been working with their CEO and main artist Grandmaster Shogun for about a year when he proposed the idea to me. That idea being a feel good classic hip-hop album for stoners to smoke to, accented by it’s 70’s soul samples and groovy drums. Read More>>

One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is Healthy Mind Map, a mental health support app designed to help people build healthier habits and stay connected with both the people who care about them and the professionals supporting them. Founder/CEO Michael Batt led the project with Senior Product Manager Kyle Charlesworth. When they brought me on as the designer, I could instantly tell this wasn’t just another wellness app. It had a heart. Read More>>

One of the most meaningful projects of my life has been creating MUTT – A New Musical Comedy.
After three unforgettable years performing in The Book of Mormon—an experience that shaped me both as an artist and a person—I made the bold decision to step away and create something of my own. That show taught me what was possible on the Broadway stage: how the bizarre, the irreverent, and the wildly absurd can still tell stories that reach deep into the human heart. Read More>>

The most meaningful project I worked on in 2024 with a producer Yung Rick Foxx called “Hard Times” This song was pretty difficult to record in fact I remember having more than 10 versions of it. The mixing of the record and all of the various vocals wasn’t easy, but we got it done. I really enjoy this record because it describes a hard time as an individual trying to produce and provide for yours whether that be a dream or a family in my cases both. Read More>>

As a music therapist, I’ve had the chance to work with a wide range of populations, including survivors of domestic violence. Last year, I partnered in the Angel Band Project (ABP), a St. Louis-based organization that uses music therapy to promote healing and empowerment for survivors of domestic abuse. I led an 8-week group at Newhouse, a local domestic violence shelter here in Kansas City. Read More>>

The Grelley Duvall Show has been the most meaningful project to me for the past ten years. GD is a pure distillation of my artistic vision. The Grelley Duvall Show is a revue style show that focuses on film parody and is a full blown marathon for me as a performer and producer. I sing (on key). I act. I dance. Sometimes…all at the same time. Grelley Duvall helps me escape from reality and my hope is to have the audience get the chance to escape as well. Read More>>

Two years ago, I attended the Cleveland International Film Festival with a film I produced and starred in called Convergence. While I was there, I found myself inspired by filmmakers boldly telling Jewish stories, a part of my own heritage with which I’ve often struggled to connect. At the time, America was experiencing a wave of movements confronting prejudice and hate, particularly the Black Lives Matter movement. Read More>>

Talk to Me Like the Rain is a short film I adapted from a Tennessee Williams one-act play of the same name. I acted in it, directed it, and oversaw all aspects of creative direction. It’s a project I had been developing in my mind for about seven years, and I finally brought it to life. Read More>>

After one of my show ‘Origami Tales” at a mid-sized theater, still in costume, I walked through the hallway to meet the audience. Teachers and hundreds of students lined up, excited. Recently, I worked on very personal short film called Flight 182. It was written and directed by Rippin Sindher and I starred opposite her brother Gurinder Sindher. The film was inspired by true events and centered around the tragic story of the largest act of aviation terrorism in the world before 9/11. The film explores the depth of a family bond, and effects of political violence. This year marked the 40th anniversary of this tragedy. Read More>>

I want to share my most recent project, which has been with the Autism Theater Project for a groundbreaking series called “The Voice Inside.” I am a person who is autistic, and this project shows what it’s like to live on the spectrum—and how society often places limitations on who we can be or what we can achieve. One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is my Olympic National Park illustration series. This project started as a personal exploration — I was spending a lot of time hiking and camping in the park, and felt deeply inspired by the biodiversity and the range of ecosystems packed into one region: temperate rainforests, alpine meadows, rugged coastlines. I wanted to capture the spirit of the landscape in a way that reflected my own awe and reverence for the place. Read More>>

When I was a child, my father showed me a small box he’d kept from his own childhood. The box contained tiny treasures — a miniature deck of cards, toy soldiers, a whistle, a magnet. Very small things that meant a lot to him. When he was growing up in the 1940s and 1950s, miniature toys came inside cereal boxes. His family couldn’t afford to buy toys, so he collected these little giveaways. Read More>>

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my personal photography project, So Long My Land.
It began in 2014, but its roots trace back to a life-changing year—2013—when I was a freshman in college. That year, both of my parents were hospitalized, and my father nearly lost his life. He survived thanks to a liver transplant, but the experience completely shifted how I saw the world. Read More>>

Well, the most meaningful project I’ve worked on, I still can’t talk about because of an NDA, but short of that, I can talk about some of the others. When I was a kid, I read every book in the house that I could get my hands on. Reading was an escape from all of the horrible things going on. Whatever you imagine, it was probably worse. And I was reading things I probably shouldn’t have at ages far too young. Read More>>

In the best of times a meaningful project is one in which the hands-on material process of intuitive searching and paying attention leads to new ideas, which can be communicated beyond me into common grounds, culturally and spiritually. Meaningful projects… there are so many. From personal one on one with clients. Creating something new every time. To working with other creatives in editorial, working with brides on their special day. They all have been so meaningful. Nenu The Magical Wizard is definitely the most meaningful project I’ve worked on in my entire film career. As a filmmaker, I’ve told all kinds of stories—but this one is inherently different. Nenu encourages kids to slow down, Read More>>
