We recently connected with Chris Tsosie and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Meaningful projects… there are so many. From personal one on one with clients. Creating something new every time. To working with other creatives in editorial, working with brides on their special day. They all have been so meaningful. Pouring the creativity into that project, being able to express what’s going on in my mind. Telling a story with each project, seeing the way it’s interpreted by everyone is the rewarding part.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a hair artist. I dabble in a lot of everything in the hair world. Women’s and men’s hair. Cutting, coloring, hair extension, bridal styling, editorial styling. Mostly an ear to listen to people and tell me about their lives when we have “therapy” what most of my clients have come to label our time together.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding thing about what I do is just…CREATING. It’s a fun process; sometimes stressful but worth every emotion. Connecting with my clients and hearing their stories. Seeing my client grow evolve expressing it all with their hair.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I think for me a goal is to never stop. Never stop pushing forward with anything in life. Enjoying the ups and downs. To always be proud of where I’ve come from, where I’m at, and where I’m heading. Just to never stop.
