In our experience, talking about legacy is often subtly discouraged by society and we find this to be deeply unfortunate. Thinking about the legacy you would like to build can help you better align your work, life, time – your sweat and tears – with your values. Below, we’ve tried to create a space for folks to start conversations about they legacies they are hoping to build.

The legacy I hope to build is one rooted in healing, resilience, and empowerment. I want people to say that through my words, my story, and my work, I gave others permission to believe in themselves again. That I showed it’s possible to rise from pain, to love yourself fully, and to walk boldly in your purpose. I want to be remembered not just as an author, but as someone who helped others reconnect with their own worth, their own light. You, Empowered is more than a book — it’s a reflection of that legacy, a living reminder that no matter where you come from or what you’ve faced, you are powerful beyond measure. Read more>>

I hope that people will remember me for my creative spirit, my willingness to try new things and my openness to share my talents with others. I have had a great love for the outdoors and have spent years educating youth. I started by teaching youth swimming, kayaking, and canoeing and leading canoeing and hiking trips into the wilderness. I then spent 22 years teaching science, engineering, and robotics in public schools. My last 7 years have been a journey of entrepreneurship that have included the opening of the Whoopsa Daisy Farm and Airbnb as well as vending at multiple quilting shows. Read more>>

The legacy I’m trying to build is one of literature, language, and light. To illustrate comes from the Latin root of ‘light’, and I think that’s a very apt way to describe what true creators leave behind- a world a little less dark. If all I accomplish in my lifetime is to spread a little light by way of my books, or illustrations, than that’s a legacy enough for me. We don’t leave behind thriving companies or a statues of ourselves in gold; we leave behind the hearts we change, and the souls we touch. That’s what I want to be remembered for. Read more>>

I hope to be remembered as someone who made meaningful differences in people’s lives, even if it was small. Someone who brought clarity, empathy, and purpose to complex challenges. Not necessarily through grand gestures, but by showing up with consistency, curiosity, and care. If people say I helped them feel seen, supported, or even just a little lighter in their day, that’s the legacy I want to leave. Design, to me, is a tool for connection, and I want my work to reflect that, one thoughtful choice at a time. Read more>>

Legacy, a great word. One that refers to the overall impact or influence a person has on the world, even after they are gone.
My goal is to make people feel heard, feel important and to spread positivity in my reviews and information about restaurants, drinks, and foods. My wish is to leave a legacy of kindness. Regardless of the what is going on around us, they can show acts of kindness. Read more>>

When I leave this Earth, I hope I’m surrounded by my family and friends who loved me fiercely but also felt comfortable speaking their truth to me so there were no words left unspoken. I want my legacy to be filled with stories of transformation, connection, and resiliency. Read more>>

The legacy I want to build is one of growth, even if a person decides to give up or take breaks and start again with a village by their side. People will say I am a hard-working, creative woman, but I always show gratitude to my community, friends, family, and even strangers for joining me on my journey to success. I hope to be remembered for my innovative photoshoot concepts and for the times when I felt like giving up or needed breaks from photography; during my resurgence, I worked harder than ever because I reevaluated my strategies in marketing, communication, and vision.
