There’s a concept of the Matthew Effect which uses math to illustrate what folks have lamented about for thousands of years – the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Take tech for example – the rich and poor often have different problems, but because it’s more profitable to solve problems for the wealthy a disproportionate share of tech innovation focuses on solving problems for the affluent. However, it doesn’t have to be this way – and we have been blown away by the thousands of members of our community who have devoted their lives through their businesses, organizations and art to serve the underserved.

Yes, our business serves an underserved community in the interior of Brazil, where we focus on territorial development, primarily through the structuring of networks and cooperatives of local producers. Brazil is a country of multiple realities and challenges, with immense potential but also significant gaps in infrastructure, resources, and opportunities. Many rural communities in these regions are rich in culture, biodiversity, and ancestral knowledge, yet they often lack access to markets, fair pricing, and sustainable development tools. Read more>>

I started the Emotional Health Shop because I know what it’s like to feel completely lost in your emotions—like you’re drowning, and you don’t know how to come up for air.
I was 17 when my father was incarcerated. I felt so alone in my pain. There wasn’t anywhere I could go, and I didn’t have anyone to talk to at that point. A dad going to jail? Who could have possibly helped me with that? I was carrying grief, anger, guilt—emotions that felt too big for me, and I had no tools to process them. Read more>>

Absolutely! My brand is built on serving underserved communities by making tech careers more accessible, especially for those who don’t have a traditional background in the industry.
For so long, tech has felt like a “closed-door” industry, favoring those with computer science degrees, insider connections, or simply the privilege of early exposure. What I’ve learned in my career journey is, tech is full of opportunities that don’t require coding or years of experience and there are opportunities that many in underrepresented communities simply don’t know exist. One of the most rewarding aspects of being in business is the opportunity to serve underserved communities—especially small businesses that lack the resources to provide safety and injury prevention services for their employees. Many companies, particularly smaller ones, simply don’t have access to essential resources like physical therapy, safety hazard analysis, and injury prevention training. Unlike larger corporations with dedicated departments for these services, small businesses often struggle to implement safety measures, leaving their employees vulnerable to preventable injuries. I’ve always been driven by a commitment to support underserved communities. Early in my career, I noticed that many local neighborhoods lacked access to modern technology and mentorship. I helped organize hands-on workshops for youth in these areas, providing them with the skills and confidence they needed to pursue new opportunities. This experience reinforced my dedication to empowering individuals through practical support and mentorship, and it’s a principle that continues to guide my work today. Read more>>
