When we go on short trips we often know exactly what we expect at the end, but when it comes to our lives and careers we’ve seen far too often we shy away from really thinking through where we expect to be at the end and what we hope our legacy will be. So, we wanted to encourage conversations on the topic of legacy and you’ll find highlights from our conversation from some wonderful members of the business and creative community below.

My deepest hope is that my legacy will be one of genuine care and tangible support within the art world. I aspire to be remembered as a catalyst – a valuable resource who actively created opportunities and offered guidance to those just starting out, exploring their creativity, or simply seeking a spark of inspiration. While my artistic contributions would be cherished, my greatest achievement would be knowing I empowered others to discover and pursue their own artistic paths. Read more>>

When I first started Dear Summer I didn’t have a full business plan, just a dream and love of the industry. In the event world, you either love weddings or you hate them and I was for sure on the love side of the coin. There really is nothing better than being a part of a couple’s special day and having them trust you with their vision and life memories. It’s a great responsibility that I cherish and my hope is that all of my clients remember their day fondly. To be remembered as a calm presence on a day that can be very much the opposite of calm is always the goal. I have been lucky to have some amazing clients and families and I hope the name “Dear Summer” is a name they associate with kindness and care because that is what they mean to me. Read more>>

I would want to be remembered for providing happiness through my baked goods and the moments they helped to create. Being a part of those moments and receiving the wonderful reactions is the whole reason I do it. Most people I come across say the same thing – “I’m not big on sweets, but yours were delicious”.
Making others fall in love with baked goods once again that also remind them of their best memories is the legacy I wish to have. Read more>>

Now in my early 40s, I recently left my old profession to pursue a new career as a screenwriter in the Film and Television industry in Hollywood, which has always been my dream, but I have over 20 years of experience in the Furniture industry. Both in mass production and bespoke. Therefore when I think about what I think people will say about me or remember me for when I am gone is that I was never afraid to go after what I wanted, no matter how crazy it may have been. I believe my calling in this life is to be an encourager. An uplifter. To be a positive influence. I hope that my legacy includes people feeling encouraged after our encounter. Encouraged to follow their dreams. Encouraged to make a better life for themselves. Encouraged to carve out a path where there was not one originally. Encouraged to grow. Encouraged to rest. Encouraged to live life to the fullest. Read more>>

I hope to be known as someone who created space for others to be seen, heard, and valued. That’s the driving force behind the podcast studio I’m opening in the northwest metro—a place where people can rent professional sets and walk away with high-quality video and audio content that helps them share their message with the world. My legacy, I hope, is one of connection—bringing people together through storytelling and helping positive, life-changing messages reach the audiences who need them most. Read more>>

I hope to go down in the books as one of the greatest ring announcers of independent wrestling, or any event for that matter. I have had so much fun making a name for myself all over the state of Georgia, getting recognized for announcing talent from all over the country. I want to be remembered as a locker room sweetheart, someone who gets things done and doesn’t play about the craft I love. I am a go-getter, a hard hitter, and a top tier person helping out some top tier athletes. Read more>>

“I hope my legacy is proof that no matter where you start, you can rewrite your story. I want to be remembered as someone who took every struggle and turned it into a stepping stone—not just for myself, but for others. Whether it was building businesses from scratch, writing books that empower people, or creating wine that tells a story of resilience—I want my legacy to be about turning pain into purpose. If I can inspire even one woman to rise after being knocked down, then I’ve done my job. I want my name to be synonymous with reinvention, empowerment, and generosity—and I want people to feel stronger, smarter, and more self-assured because I existed.” Read more>>
