Our community is fortunate to have so many brilliant, insightful entrepreneurs and creatives and so many of them have front row, ground level seats that allow them to see emerging trends before the so-called experts, industry leaders, etc. We wanted to create a space to connect members of our community where they could share these insights on trends and opportunities they are seeing.

The biggest trends in social media this 2025 year is authenticity and community, people are tired of being sold something everytime they open their phone. This year is all about finding community, sharing experiences, and building relationships that last. This can only be done when your business or brand fosters an authentic presence and is actually providing value or addressing and solving a problem that currently exists. Read more>>

The firearms training and self-defense industry has grown significantly, driven by increased fears and uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic and concerns about rising crime. Despite inflation, the industry along with gun sales has seen steady growth as people recognize the importance of being their own first responders. There’s been a notable rise in young people and women enrolling in training programs to learn about their Second Amendment rights and self-defense skills. I believe this is why overall gun ownership for first time owners has risen. This reflects a growing commitment to understanding firearms and legal responsibilities including personal protection. I’ve noticed a massive wave of “content creators” enter into the media field. A majority of that has to do with the changes in how we view content, which is our cellphones. We see more businesses turning the leaf in how they deliver their content from a horizontal format to a vertical format. Simply put, there has been a massive shift in “visual convenience”. Due to this shift, the media field, in some eyes, has become over- saturated. So with some many people offering a service “similar” to yours, you have to deal with competitive prices. Read more>>

The biggest trend I’m seeing is this exciting push and pull between AI efficiency and human connection. It’s like a dance! On one side, AI is automating tasks, boosting productivity, and even predicting what customers want. Imagine a small business owner who used to spend hours scheduling social media posts. One of the biggest trends that I’ve been seeing within the Fashion Industry; that I’ve been surprised by but ecstatic about is people having a want for more conscious fashion. It started a bit back in 2022 where I noticed a lot of emerging handbag designers utilizing alternative leather and creating sustainable brands. Which I was super stooked about since I remember back when I was taking Fashion Design classes the idea of alternative leather wasn’t really there or a part of industry standard as I’ve been told many times during that time period. I’m sure all parents want their child to do better and be better than they were, but in my Caribbean household, that wasn’t even an option—it was expected. Academics and excelling in school were serious business at home. Summer breaks, I was sitting at the kitchen table with my siblings and cousins, doing summer workbooks for the upcoming school year, Monday through Friday. Two pages of math and reading problems, sometimes followed by a book to read. After that, we had the rest of the day to ourselves. Was it fun then? Absolutely not. But the message I’ve heard all my life was ‘work hard now, have fun later.’ And honestly, that mindset has stuck with me. Read more>>

My dad was pastor when I was growing up and so I spent most of my childhood at church. Church and music often go hand in hand. The musical instruments were always available for us kids to use and play with and everybody was always encouraged to sing and perform with no shame. Kids should be able to make as much noise as they want if I’m being serious. It was really nice, honestly. Like, I don’t think a lot of kids get to experience that sort of access and exposure to musicality in that way and at such an early age. Read more>>
