Everyday we meet business owners, professionals, artists and creatives. Photographers, florists, realtors and more. They might come from different backgrounds, work in different industries, have varying personalities, and have vastly different income and educational profiles, but the one thing we’ve seen over and over again is that most people have a unique and special reason for why they do what they do. From a realtor helping families afford the first home he always wished for as a kid to a photographer using her skills to give a voice and face to victims who feel voiceless, we have been blown away by what happens when you just ask people a simple question – why do you do what you do?

Her Designs, the for profit event planning and designing facet of Establish Her ministries, exists to make events more of experiences that will never be forgotten. It is easy to create, execute, and manage event logistics but it is an entirely different space to intentionally and beautifully design an experience that leaves recipients and guests marked by it. Christian events do not have to be lavishly expensive to be remarkably unforgettable and excellent in execution. Read more>>

Our environment has a direct connection to our mood and mental health. And no environment influences our day to day mental wellbeing more than our home. This may seem obvious, but what can be less obvious are the tools and techniques we can use to make our home a place that instills calm while boosting happiness. Interior design is fundamentally about maximizing the function of a space in a way that is personal to its occupants, then layering in a unique and beautiful aesthetic. If the room doesn’t function for a client, I’ve failed as a designer no matter how good the room may look on a superficial level. Read more>>

The idea of Solstice Sisters came about when we noticed the lack of spaces for women and femmes to truly connect with one another in a deep way. The lack of sense of community was something that has been ever present in our society, but became even more pronounced during the pandemic. We realized that oftentimes, we focus on looking to our romantic relationships for nurturing and healing and leave our friendships to the wayside. But when we do that, we miss out on the richness and depth that platonic relationships can provide. To allow yourself to be seen and held by your community is a beautiful thing, and helps to soften the edges of our internal worlds so that we can connect to others in a real way. Read more>>

When I turned 25, the stars aligned for me, bringing together my two passions: real estate and social media. Once I got my license in 2018, I knew exactly where my focus needed to be—helping first-time homebuyers and families looking to create generational wealth through real estate investments. As someone who is both Mexican and Salvadorian, as well as a millennial, I feel a natural connection to these communities. I get it—buying your first home in the Bay Area can feel like an impossible dream, given that local prices far exceed the national average. I deeply empathize with those who’ve grown up here and worry that they might get priced out of their own hometown. Read more>>
Krissy Allegra

Before Always Allegra came to be, I started in the industry, first assisting other planners on the side, then I worked for 12 years at different special event venues throughout Los Angeles. My position was always the Event Manager for all the events at my given space, coordinating the food & beverage, timelines, managing vendors and working with planners to bring these wedding days to life. I learned so much over my 12 years working in that position of being on the venue side, but being engulfed by each and every event, infiltrated with the details and apart of the process with our clients. There are elements of time and movement as the space unfolds, and it takes a lot of study and thought to create. Read more>>

I run multiple businesses however my pride and joy is The Day Trader Chatroom Inc. The reason for this love is that at The DTC (day trader chatroom) my goal was to bring the highest quality educational material I could bring to share with others how I learned to trade stocks, options, and futures. Why did I want to share this? The answer to this is straightforward, when I started trading years ago I had no clue where to start it’s not like school prepares you for this. So I started on Google looking up information and learning keywords like PDT (pattern day trader rule) I quickly ended up on YouTube watching traders share their experiences and teaching others. After some time trying out different strategies I found on YouTube I quickly realized that there was so much information on YouTube and it was tough to find information that actually worked. My first memory of environmentalism was when I was in elementary school. My dad, a farmer, was about to toss his McDonald’s bag out of the car window and litter it. I remember getting upset, telling him not to throw it out, and that I’d hang onto it until I found a trash can. Now that I’m older, I don’t understand why he would’ve wanted to throw garbage onto the very land that provided his income and was his livelihood. Both sides of my family are from North Dakotan farming communities. The lives they’ve been able to live are because of the nutrient-rich soil of the Red River Valley. On the other side of the very same state, an oil boom brought a flurry of fracking. Read more>>

My mission is simple, leave a green planet for my daughter to enjoy. I started my business when I found out I was pregnant with my IVF miracle baby Nokomis. Becoming a mom I now found myself worried about my daughter’s future. I know the damaging effects of global warming and it made me realize if I were to start a business, it couldn’t be one that would hurt the planet even more. That is why my company is a green company. And I don’t say that lightly, I strive everyday to reduce, reuse and recycle. I source sustainable ingredients, paper and wooden wicks from FSC certified forests and use biodegradable packaging. I reuse packing materials I receive from suppliers and use zero plastic in my process. I also donate money to plant trees in order to offset our carbon footprint. I want my business to do more good than harm to this planet so my daughter can grow up enjoying it instead of fixing it. Read more>>

We are big believers that History is for everybody and that there is something for everybody to love about it. Okay, so History was your least favorite subject in school. Okay, so the Industrial Revolution bores you to pieces. That’s fine! But then find that one thing about History that you do love. Study Al Capone! Study Presidential Assassinations! Study the Salem Witch Trials! That’s where it starts! Here at Hashtag History, we are all about taking a deeper dive into History’s greatest stories of controversies, conspiracies, and corruptions. Running in Silence is committed to empowering the athletic community through eating disorder education and awareness so athletes can receive help and achieve their potential in both health and athletic performance. December 16, 2012 was the day Rachael Steil stopped running in silence. It was the day she wrote the first blog post at runninginsilence.org about dealing with anorexia and binge eating as an All-American runner at Aquinas College. Writing her truth invited others to share their eating disorder experiences. Rachael began to see how many athletes dealt with these issues behind closed doors–in secrecy and in shame–and it made her feel less alone. She continued to write about her experiences on the blog, and for a book. Read more>>

As a website designer, my mission, both in my professional life and as a person, has always been about making life easier and more enjoyable for others. Growing up, I was deeply influenced by my immigrant parents, who instilled in me the values of generosity and nurturing. During my graphic design studies, I stumbled upon my first opportunity to work with a local barbershop, and they needed a website. Now, I had zero experience in web design, but I eagerly jumped into the project. To my surprise, I fell in love with the whole process! There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking on a task that’s stressing someone out and confidently telling them, ‘I’ve got this.’ Read more>>

I inherited my Pop’s 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. I felt so honored and privileged to own my grandpa’s car, I wanted to do everything I could with the car. The car has its own website pops59.com, and Facebook page. I also had multiple articles written and it was featured on the cover of a magazine. On top of all this, I tried to take the car to as many car shows as possible. Eventually, I came up with a concept to store my car and others like it in a climate-controlled building, but rather than it be a bare warehouse or private club, the vehicles would be displayed as museum exhibits when the owners weren’t driving them. The why for me is very important in my mission driven company. You would think all businesses are built off the structure to give back but for me it is very important to give back to help guide people on their journey. Being a healer was never my choice, things just turned out that way. When I was 21 years old a monk read my palm for free and told me that I was a shaman and that I didn’t have a choice. I didn’t even know what a shaman meant. When I researched it, I was rebellious and told myself no, what do you mean I don’t have a choice? I went off living my life. Read more>>
