We were lucky to catch up with Sarah Ott Deyton recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Her Designs, the for profit event planning and designing facet of Establish Her ministries, exists to make events more of experiences that will never be forgotten. It is easy to create, execute, and manage event logistics but it is an entirely different space to intentionally and beautifully design an experience that leaves recipients and guests marked by it.

Christian events do not have to be lavishly expensive to be remarkably unforgettable and excellent in execution.

Sarah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have been doing women’s ministry for over 20 years through Establish Her’s platform of rooting women deeply in their relationship with Jesus Christ through written content, consistent Bible studies, and exclusive yearly retreats. In doing so many events over the years for churches and ministries, I became known by others for creating beautiful experiences from the smallest detail to the biggest that would elevate just a typical event to something remarkable and excellent.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My mission or goal with Her Designs is to raise the bar in the Christian event and women’s ministry industry. Her Designs takes the client’s budget, using resourcefulness and excellence, and curates a one of kind environment for every guest that attends. From bespoke floral arranging to beautiful themed tablescapes to all the pre-planning required for any event, Her Designs can be hired by churches or non-profits to elevate their events into exquisite experiences.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being creative is not only seeing the culmination of planning and details come to life but to see the sheer delight on clients’ faces when they are pleased beyond words with work done by Her Designs. Whether it is unique textural floral arrangements in curated antique dishes with a variety of seasonal colors and fragrances or whether it is a fully designed experience from venue securing, day of logistics, decorative details and managing all the stress for the client to simply enjoy and be present. It is so fulfilling to create something for another that exceeds their expectations and thrills their heart!
