One of the most important things we think the media can do is connect small business owners and creatives across industries and markets to give them an opportunity to learn form each other. The insights on trends in particular can be transformative if our communities were better connected and so we’ve tried to create a space where folks can share the trends they are seeing and read about trends other sharp entrepreneurs are seeing.

Social Media is shaping fashion and beauty trends like crazy! I have seen so many small and large trends coming to life through TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest. I would say probably 90% of my clients come in with inspiration photos or videos everyday. Trends are so fun to try out, wether you love them or not. It has been so fun seeing my clients step out of their comfort zones and try new things. Read more>>

The biggest trend in this industry is SOCIAL MEDIA! The consistency of your posts, reels, before/afters are so important. The lighting the posing of your client it all adds up to broadcast the finished look. Reels is the biggest trend right now. Not only are you on a time schedule to finish your clients you’re also trying to photograph/videograph your work before, during, and after so you can get those views or likes on the media. The media is what helps grow your business in todays world. Read more>>

The biggest trend that I’ve seen over the last 2-3 years has been creating content reels. The feature was first introduced to Instagram back in 2019 only allowing 15 second reels up to now 90 seconds here in 2022. Creating makeup reels vs. just a regular photo post with hashtags doesn’t allow the content to be seen as much as a reel with hashtags does. Read more>>

With COVID and rising prices, I see more and more people trying to be creative with their entertainment and what they do in their free time. For example, we all know someone who grew a sourdough starter and became an expert on baking bread during the early covid lockdowns- in my friend group, it was me, I was the one baking bread. Last season we saw an increased interest in our chemical free edible flowers. They make beautiful embellishments for sweet and savory baked goods, charcuterie boards and topping off cocktails and mocktails. We grow unique varieties of violas, along with blossoms from phlox, hyacinth bean, marigolds, roses, nasturtium and herbs. In addition to fresh edibles, we also offer dried edible varieties that are used by a local tea blender. Read more>>

I think the biggest trend in the industry right now is that our clients are doing what makes them feel their best. There are no rules anymore, so the boundaries are endless. People are focused on hyper-personalization and customization based on consultation and personal experience. I find that if you listen to your guest that they tell you everything they are looking for not only with their words but with their body language and energy. Creating an open space where I can learn about what my client expects, leads me to a stronger connection in providing services. Read more>>

I believe that the biggest trend that I hope to see become the standard is seeing more Black women entering the culinary industry. Embracing our culture across the diaspora and translating our heritage, our art, our history onto a dish and presenting it to others who may not have had not had the same experiences as us. Giving people a little glance into our world through a bite. Read more>>

One of the biggest commercial real estate trends in Miami and the overall South Florida market is in the Multifamily sector. With interest rates on the rise, there are two types of renters on the rise: tenants that are not able to or do not want to purchase at higher interest rates than what we saw 2020-2021. And potential home buyers who are holding out for their definition of the perfect time to buy. Both types of renters are a huge advantage to real estate investors as they fuel the rental property demand. Read more>>

As a social media manager, trending new trends on social media is a part of my job. As social media changes and evolve so do the trends users take advantage of. The biggest trend this year has been short-form video, with the explosion of Tiktok this past year taking the focus away from photos and long-form videos. Read more>>

I don’t know many trends but I do feel that one of the biggest trends that I see in the industry is the lack of a need for vocal training. This is the reason why I started my business, because it is a need and it can help to enhance vocal skills. I also feel that training can give a boost of confidence, not just with singing, but with performance overall. Read more>>

The biggest trend I see in my industry is the lack of consistency. Typically, people care about helping those in need around the holidays and natural disasters. However, to really move the dial, you have to work hard every day. You have the make the goal priority. It is extremely labor intensive to provide someone with nuanced care…especially someone who is experiencing homelessness. You cannot provide nuanced care to someone you don’t have a rapport with. You can’t have a rapport without trust, and you can’t build trust without consistency. Read more>>
