We were lucky to catch up with Zosia West recently and have shared our conversation below.
Zosia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I would say the age of five. I was in a ballet recital and my mother told me this story. All the ballerinas came out onstage and had gone one way lying on the ground. I had gone the complete opposite. I guess when someone had gone to correct me I believe it was my mother. The instructor said, no! No! NO! She’s the star………I guess I was meant to carve my own path.

Zosia , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Zosia west I’m a singer, dancer, actress. I’ve been performing I say since in utero. (I use to drum in my moms belly at midnight she tells me.) I started performing in musical theatre at five sharing the stage with sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Chita Riveria, Jodi benson, michael Damion and more. Then I progressed into modeling, tv and film. I think what sets Reign of Z apart is we all as a collective created it. We create a world where the land of misfit toys can feel understood and create a home for the broken and damned.
The things we’re most proud of is we’re self made. We’re not trust fund kids, we hustle to go on every tour, provide every recording, and anyone who may help to invest in us we pay back. We donate to a lot of charities and pride ourselves on being hard working and creating music and a place where all walks of life are welcome with our off color imagery and maybe even dark undertones.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
We have a running joke with our producers we’re cursed. Well when we started this project we had five members. We lost two due to numerous circumstances. Our tour in 2021 was quite the controversy. We lost our touring vehicle, broke down three times, lost 1/2 our band due to circumstances and unfortunately had a fatality with cyclist on our last day of tour and all of us got sick. Since then we had a manger that stole from us, and spent a year trying to find members while risking our jobs to chase this dream.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
BUY MERCHANDISE!!! When you don’t have a label or a financial investor we don’t make anything!!! Everyone gets a cut but the artist. Unless you’re a huge star you don’t make money off of steaming, a lot of promoters don’t want to pay you unless you’re attached to a larger act. Everything we do is out of pocket. Most bands have day jobs.
