We were lucky to catch up with TyMiyah Tyler recently and have shared our conversation below.

TyMiyah, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?

I am building my legacy for my daughter, Heaven “Ladybug” Goodwin who is also co-owner of our brand. I would like to make a positive impact on the world, even if it is just in small ways. I want to be remembered as a woman who has made a difference in the fashion world and who has been helpful to others. I hope people will say that I was a determined being, that I try to help in any way that I can and that I push girls and other women to follow their dreams. I want to be remembered for my kindness and creativity in the world.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am from South Carolina, I am one of the first females in my area to start their very own handbag business. I got into the fashion industry in 2021, and released my first collection of my handbag business in 2022. I’m most proud of the fact that I can use my creativity to assist and engage with my customers in a helpful and informative manner. I strive to provide good quality handbags and insights to the best of my abilities.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

The creation of my brand took lots of handwork and dedication. There was a lot of nights where I did not get any sleep because of researching or drawing and brainstorming my next idea. Funding my business was where sacrifices were made. Of course, the price depends on the size, shape and quantity of bags. The quality of my first collection spoke volume to my brand. I saved up over 5,000 in cash to start the foundation of my business.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson that I had to unlearn that it is completely fine to make mistakes, when mistakes are made that’s when there is a learning and teachable moment.
