We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Suzanne Dani’L Simone. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Suzanne Dani’L below.
Suzanne Dani’L, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for my business is to become a repeat client. In an industry built on trust, emotion, and human connection, there is nothing more meaningful than having someone return and invite us to document another chapter of their story. That level of confidence in our artistry, vision, and experience speaks volumes. Beyond creating beautiful imagery, it’s the lasting relationships and genuine connections formed along the way that become one of the greatest rewards of this career.

Suzanne Dani’L, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Suzanne Dani’L Simone, the owner and creative force behind Poshtography Professional Photography & Videography. I’ve been immersed in the world of visual arts for over two decades, with my journey beginning long before social media transformed photography into what it is today. Creativity has always been part of who I am. Whether through photography, videography, fashion, dance, music, or movement, I’ve always been drawn to storytelling that evokes emotion and creates connection.
Over the years, that passion evolved into a luxury photography and videography brand focused on creating timeless, elevated imagery with an editorial edge. Poshtography was built on the belief that photography should be more than simply taking photos — it should be an experience. I wanted to create something that blended professionalism, artistry, fashion-inspired direction, emotion, and genuine human connection in a way that makes people feel seen at their very best.
We specialize in weddings, high-end portraiture, branding, boudoir, fashion-inspired imagery, headshots, and visual storytelling for both individuals and businesses. Much of my work is rooted in creating imagery that feels polished yet authentic — capturing not only how someone looks, but who they are. I love creating work that feels cinematic, intentional, elegant, and emotionally resonant.
One thing that truly sets my work apart is the experience itself. I take pride in making clients feel comfortable, confident, and understood throughout the creative process. Many people come into a session nervous, camera shy, or feeling disconnected from themselves, and one of the most rewarding parts of what I do is helping them rediscover their confidence through artistry and direction. My background in movement, performance, and fashion heavily influences how I guide clients naturally, helping create imagery that feels alive rather than overly posed.
I’m also incredibly passionate about relationships and longevity within this industry. Some of the greatest honors in my career have been clients returning throughout different chapters of their lives — engagements becoming weddings, weddings becoming maternity sessions, branding clients evolving into long-term collaborations. That trust means everything to me because photography is deeply personal. People are allowing you into meaningful moments of their lives, and I never take that lightly.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand that has remained resilient, heart-centered, and artistically driven through every evolution of the industry. In a fast-paced world focused on trends and instant content, I still deeply value intentional artistry, professionalism, kindness, integrity, and creating work that stands the test of time.
I want potential clients and followers to know that Poshtography is not just about beautiful images — it’s about creating an unforgettable experience and preserving emotion, connection, confidence, and legacy through art. Every session, every wedding, every project is approached with genuine care, vision, and passion for storytelling.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media has honestly been a long evolution for me rather than an overnight success story. I entered the photography industry long before social media became such a dominant force, so I’ve experienced the transition from traditional word-of-mouth marketing and referrals into today’s digital-first world. That shift taught me that while algorithms and platforms constantly change, authenticity, consistency, and human connection never go out of style.
A large part of my audience has been built organically through relationships, repeat clients, referrals, networking, and consistently putting work into the world that reflects my artistic vision and values. I’ve always believed that people connect not only with beautiful imagery, but with energy, storytelling, personality, professionalism, and the experience behind the brand. Social media simply became another extension of that.
One thing I’ve learned is that building a meaningful audience takes patience. It’s very easy to compare yourself to viral creators or feel discouraged by numbers, especially in creative industries, but long-term trust and credibility are incredibly valuable. Some of the strongest opportunities in my career have come quietly through consistent visibility over time rather than one viral moment.
As platforms evolved, I also learned the importance of adapting while still remaining true to your identity. Video content, behind-the-scenes moments, education, storytelling, and personality-driven content have become incredibly important. People want connection now more than perfection alone. They want to understand the person behind the brand.
For anyone just beginning their social media journey, my biggest advice would be to start before you feel fully ready. So many talented people hold themselves back because they overthink every post or feel like they need perfection first. Consistency matters more than perfection. Show your work. Share your process. Let people see your passion. Let your personality come through.
I would also encourage creatives not to chase trends so aggressively that they lose their own voice in the process. Inspiration is wonderful, but authenticity is what creates longevity. Your individuality is your greatest asset because nobody else can replicate your exact perspective, story, or energy.
Another important thing is to genuinely engage with people. Social media is meant to be social. Support others, build relationships, respond to comments, create conversations, and focus on community rather than simply numbers. Audiences can feel when someone is creating solely for attention versus creating from genuine passion and purpose.
Most importantly, don’t underestimate the power of resilience. There will be periods where growth feels slow, algorithms shift, engagement fluctuates, or self-doubt creeps in. Every creative experiences that. The key is continuing to evolve, continuing to learn, and continuing to create anyway. Sometimes the people who succeed are simply the ones who refused to give up on their vision.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life and career came during the evolution of both the photography industry and the digital world itself. I built my foundation in an era where photography was driven heavily by referrals, print products, in-person networking, and traditional relationship building long before social media became central to business growth. Over time, the industry shifted dramatically toward digital marketing, short-form content, personal branding, and constant online visibility. Like many creatives, I had to learn how to evolve without losing the heart of what made my work meaningful in the first place.
There were moments where I realized that simply being talented at your craft was no longer enough. You also had to become a storyteller, marketer, editor, strategist, educator, and on-camera personality all at once. That realization pushed me outside of my comfort zone and forced me to grow in ways I never anticipated.
At the same time, life itself brought challenges that required me to become even more resilient and adaptable. I’ve experienced periods where I had to rebuild mentally, emotionally, financially, and creatively while still continuing to show up professionally for clients. Those experiences taught me that true strength is not about pretending everything is perfect — it’s about continuing to move forward with grace, integrity, and passion even during uncertain seasons.
One of the most important pivots I made was leaning more deeply into the luxury, editorial, and experience-driven side of my brand rather than trying to compete in a race to the bottom creatively or financially. I realized that my work was never meant to be about volume alone. It was about artistry, connection, storytelling, and creating an elevated experience that clients genuinely remember. That shift allowed me to align more authentically with the type of work and clientele that truly reflect my vision.
I also began embracing video, social media storytelling, branding content, and creative strategy in ways that expanded beyond traditional photography. Instead of resisting change, I learned how to integrate new platforms and evolving technology while still maintaining the timeless artistic foundation that built my career.
Looking back, I think pivoting ultimately taught me the importance of staying rooted in who you are while remaining flexible enough to evolve. Growth often requires reinvention, and reinvention can feel uncomfortable at first. But some of the most beautiful opportunities in life and business happen when you allow yourself to adapt rather than remain frozen by fear.
What I’m most proud of is that through every transition, challenge, and reinvention, I never lost my passion for creating, connecting with people, and building something meaningful through art.
