Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stephanie H. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Stephanie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
I always had parents that supported my art endeavors. However there is a stigma that if you become an artist you are a “starving artist.” I took my love for art and artistic abilities, and turned into a career. Anything is possible, it starts with a dream.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Stephanie and I was born and raised in Houston. Art has been my passion for as long as I could hold a pencil. I graduated from Houston Baptist University with a bachelor’s of arts in art education. I started off as a public school teacher and then ventured off into contact work in art. I created Splash kids so I could use my artistic gifts in art education, and provide creative art services to families, friends, and clients. My business specializes in mobile paint parties for kids as well as contract art services. We offer a unique way of bringing creative arts to celebrations and other events. We bring a fun way of painting on canvas to you. We are very professional and have experience working with all ages. We have also customized our creative services based on what you are looking for such as festival type events, corporate, virtual, and much more. When you support our business, you support a women owned small business. We treat our clients with respect and give 100%. We love what we do in bringing arts to the community and teaching children to be creative. When you support our business, you support our programs, families, and the importance of art education to our communities. It is important to promote creativity with our children and not scare them away into thinking they will be a “starving artists.” I took my passion for art and turned it into my life’s career. I think what sets us apart is that we give 100% to all our clients. We are flexible and make sure to treat everyone like family. We take care of our clients and their party needs.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I think as a female business owner, running a business can be hard when you are pregnant. When I become pregnant, my business had to be placed on hold until I was ready to get back to business. However, I had to learn eventually how to juggle a business and be a full time mom too.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think there are a lot of creative art services out there. There is a lot of competition. However, we have gathered a lot of great reviews from clients in the past that have also referred our services. In addition, many organizations continue to work with us yearly and quarterly. Building strong customer service and have a strong network really helps our reputation. When customers are happy with your work, they make sure to tell their friends. It is important to give 100% in all you do.
