We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sherryl Lin Taylor. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sherryl Lin below.
Alright, Sherryl Lin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
The biggest risk I ever took in my business was coming out as a Medical Intuitive Healer.
For years, I quietly did energy healing for family and friends without charging or advertising my services. A deep fear of being labeled crazy or fraudulent held me back from using these abilities publicly.
That all changed when I had a woman on my healing table and saw a dark area over one of her breasts. At first, I hesitated to acknowledge what I was seeing. I asked my guides why I was being shown this, especially since I had never experienced this level of “seeing” before. They told me it was not cancer but precancerous cells that could develop if she continued her current lifestyle. I was instructed not to share this information directly but instead to gently advise her that putting everyone else first could potentially lead to illness. She received the message with gratitude and made changes in her life.
After that incident, I gradually grew more comfortable with my intuitive abilities. The more I said “yes,” the more I was shown. I always ask to be shown only what will help the other person, as I don’t desire to be a walking human MRI!

Sherryl Lin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the author of Wise Beyond Your Fears and a contributor to the collaborative anthology, The Faces Behind the Pages. Through my business, TheCosmicConduit.com, I offer spiritually based coaching, Medical Intuitive readings and healings, and Business Matrix sessions.
Most of my clients find me through word of mouth or by hearing me speak at conferences and in interviews.
I have been coaching for many years, with my focus evolving as I have. I’ve worked as a relationship coach, media coach, small business coach, career transition coach, and life coach. About 15 years ago, after a major spiritual awakening, I began integrating my coaching experience to guide clients from a more spiritual perspective.
I believe that everyone has innate abilities that are often underutilized. My primary goal is to help my clients become their own best advisors, healers, and coaches, empowering them to trust and follow their inner guidance. The age of the guru is over—it’s time for us to be our own gurus.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In early 2022, I was all set to launch a book tour for my book, Wise Beyond Your Fears. The week the book was released, my daughter gave birth to my only grandchild, Lilah. Unbeknownst to us, my daughter had been struggling throughout her pregnancy with her drug addiction, and Lilah was born with opiates in her system. Department of Child Services immediately took custody of her, and I quickly flew to Arizona to help navigate the situation.
Initially, I thought I could still manage the book tour despite the circumstances, but it became clear that Lilah needed me more than my book did. I spent her first two weeks of life in a special NICU, staying with her until a foster family could be found. My initial plan was to return to my regular life and let my daughter get the help she needed to care for her child. However, it soon became evident that my daughter’s struggles with addiction would not allow her to parent Lilah, and child services were preparing to put her up for adoption.
It didn’t take a long conversation for my husband and I to make the decision to adopt Lilah. This required us to become certified foster parents. After going through much red tape, Lilah came to live with us when she was 10 months old. Today, she’s a healthy, happy toddler, but taking on the role of parents again meant I had to pivot in every aspect of my life. I put my business and book tour on hold, trusting that those meant to read my book would find it in their own time. My priorities shifted to building a stable foundation for Lilah.
Now, I’m working on a second book, which will focus on my journey of raising two adult children with addiction and mental health challenges, and navigating parenting 2.0 with our little granddaughter. This unexpected turn in my life reinforced that sometimes our greatest purpose emerges from the pivots we never planned to make.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
“What’s been the best source of new clients for you?”:
I believe that everything is energy, and clients come to me when my mind, body, and spirit are aligned with my purpose. Although I have taken numerous courses and hired marketing experts over the years, the best source of new clients has always been word of mouth.
I have found that being my authentic self in all areas of my life, including what I share in blog posts and on social media, naturally attracts clients who resonate with my work. I don’t enjoy being marketed to, especially when I sense a rehearsed sales pitch, and I realized that my ideal clients are those seeking a more genuine connection.
Sometimes, it’s a challenge to articulate what I do when asked, but I’ve learned that when I push through that initial awkwardness, people respond to my sincere desire to help in whatever way I’m called. This authenticity has been my most powerful marketing tool, drawing in clients who truly align with my approach and purpose.
