Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Seth Broussard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Seth , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?
If I could go back in time, I wish that I would have started my business sooner. I started doing professional photography and videography in 2020 while I was working a full time job as a project manager at a printing company. During my time there, I was also juggling running my own business and reserving my afternoons and weekends for shoots and editing. As the years went on, I kept getting busier and my business was growing bigger than I imagined. Eventually, I got to a point where I was burnt out and felt like I never had time to do anything outside of work and so I needed to make a change. I decided that I was going to quit my 9-5 and go full time on my own business starting in January of 2026 and I couldn’t be happier. I immediately felt less stressed in my day to day life, but I knew this new venture was going to be a grind and would require a ton of work, but I couldn’t wait to embark on that journey because I was doing something I loved. Looking back, I wish I had made the leap sooner. Not that I regret how things played out, but I think if I started sooner that I would have saved myself from a lot of stress and headaches and probably would have had more time to figure things out and likely would be more established in my area and further along than I am now. Overall, things are playing out nicely and I’m super excited to see how the rest of the year goes.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Seth Broussard and I am the owner of Seth Broussard Media LLC. I am a photographer, videographer, and drone pilot living in Louisiana. My first experience with photography started in my high school film photography class during my freshman year. We had a fully operational dark room on campus and I fell in love with the process of taking photos, developing the film myself, and learning the intricacies of the craft. When I made it to college, my brother was an aspiring DJ and music producer and I picked up a digital camera to take pictures and film his sets. I started to really enjoy that process and began reaching out to artists, venues, and festivals to shoot content in exchange for media passes. Eventually, people starting noticing my work and requesting to hire me for various types of jobs across many different industries. Once I realized the demand and started believing in myself, I started advertising and posting more of my work, which brought in even more work for me. Fast forward to today, I am running my own business full time and I primarily shoot restaurants (food & bev), weddings, construction/trades, sports, concerts, and events. I have a very personalized touch in whatever I am working on and pride myself in how I take care of my clients. I make sure that I have a full understanding of what the exact goal is and work directly with them to ensure we are not only hitting the mark, but exceeding it!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love the idea of creating something that wasn’t there before. Whether it’s a personal passion project, a vacation recap video or a bigger project that the client is deeply involved in, I think it’s fascinating that we have the tools and ability to make something that is 100% unique that helps tell the story of whatever subject that project is on. I try to incorporate storytelling in most of what I create to help illustrate a natural sequence of events that flow together to tell a cohesive story. The most rewarding aspect of being a creative for me is sharing the final draft with the client and hearing that you knocked it out of the park and captured their vision perfectly.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
From the start, my main goal with starting my own business was to make enough money to support my family. It was a huge plus that I actually enjoyed being in the creative space doing photography, videography, and drone work. I think the fact that I love what I do motivates me even further to succeed because there are so many people that get stuck working a job that doesn’t satisfy them and I am lucky enough to be in a position to where I can live out my passion and make money while doing it. My wife and I have our first baby, Kai, on the way coming in June and now he is my biggest motivation in my creative journey. There are a lot of variables and pressure involved with running your own business, but I think about him everyday and he pushes me to give it my all so that I give myself the best chance to succeed.
