We were lucky to catch up with Nadia Treadwell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nadia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
From middle school through college, my skin was my biggest insecurity. I struggled with acne on and off that eventually left behind scarring and hyperpigmentation, and I truly don’t remember a time when I felt comfortable leaving the house without makeup. My face felt like the first thing people saw—and the first thing they judged. I tried prescription treatments, hoping each one would be the solution, but every time I stopped using them, the acne returned. It felt like an endless cycle, and emotionally, it was exhausting.
Everything changed in 2020 when I found an acne specialist who approached my skin differently. Within three months, my skin was clear—using only skincare products. No prescriptions. No harsh resets. That experience completely shifted my perspective. For the first time, I realized that clear, healthy skin was possible with the right education, consistency, and support. I became deeply invested in my skincare journey, not just as a routine, but as a form of self-confidence and self-trust.
Five years later, in 2025, the idea for my business clicked in an unexpected moment—while sitting on my couch watching Real Housewives. It hit me that I wanted to build something of my own, something rooted in both results and real human connection. I opened my private skincare studio at the end of 2025 with a clear mission: to help people feel confident in their skin because I know firsthand how heavy it feels when you don’t. What sets my business apart is my ability to truly relate to my clients’ struggles and my belief that skincare doesn’t have to be either clinical or indulgent—it can be both. My approach is results-driven but deeply relaxing; every facial includes massage because transformation should feel good, not stressful.
Another core reason I knew this business would work is because I was solving a gap I experienced myself. When I was battling acne, I rarely saw estheticians who worked confidently with diverse skin tones. Darker skin has unique concerns—like hyperpigmentation and inflammation—that require a different level of understanding and care. From day one, I wanted my studio to be a space where all skin types and skin colors felt seen, safe, and confident trusting me with their face. No skin is off-limits here. This business isn’t just about skincare—it’s about restoring confidence, one face at a time.

Nadia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Nadia, and I’m a licensed esthetician and the owner of Your Nadi Skin; a private skincare studio in the Green Hills area of Nashville. I specialize in acne, hyperpigmentation, texture, and overall skin health, offering results-driven treatments that are both corrective and relaxing. My journey into skincare was deeply personal—my own long-term struggle with acne and post-acne scarring shaped not only my career path, but my purpose.
From middle school through college, my skin controlled my confidence. I tried prescriptions and quick fixes, only to experience temporary results. In 2020, working with an acne specialist who cleared my skin using only skincare products completely changed my perspective. That experience showed me what was possible with the right education, consistency, and customized care, and ultimately led me to pursue esthetics and open my own studio.
Today, I provide customized facials, acne-clearing programs, and corrective treatments tailored to each client’s unique skin and lifestyle. Education is a core part of my practice—I want clients to understand their skin so they feel empowered, not dependent. I work with all skin types and skin tones, with a strong focus on inclusive, thoughtful care, especially when it comes to concerns like hyperpigmentation and inflammation that require a nuanced approach.
What sets me apart is my ability to relate to my clients and my commitment to long-term results. I know firsthand how heavy it feels to not recognize yourself in the mirror, and I approach every client with empathy, honesty, and intention. I’m most proud of the trust my clients place in me and the confidence they gain along the way. My brand is built on integrity, inclusivity, and real transformation—where effective skincare meets relaxation, and every client feels seen, supported, and confident in their skin.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the strongest examples of my resilience was attending esthetics school while working full time as a tech recruiter—a role I’ve held for nearly four years. For 10 months, I worked five days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment, then went straight to school Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It was demanding, but it never felt draining. I loved school more than work, and the excitement of building something aligned with my passion gave me energy instead of taking it away.
That same year became the most successful of my recruiting career in terms of placements and performance. Balancing both sharpened my discipline, focus, and time management, and confirmed that when you’re aligned with your purpose, hard work becomes fuel rather than friction. That mindset continues to shape how I show up in my business today—focused, resilient, and fully committed to meaningful results.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been TikTok. While I was still in esthetics school, several of my videos gained traction, which allowed me to build trust and visibility before I even graduated. By the time I finished school, I was fully booked, and that momentum carried directly into the launch of my business.
Today, I remain consistently booked during the weekends I’m open, and 100% of my clientele comes from TikTok. I use the platform intentionally to educate, document real results, and show the behind-the-scenes of what it’s actually like to run a skincare business. That consistency has allowed me to grow organically, attract aligned clients, and build a community that already understands my approach before ever stepping into my studio.
