We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lorena Greer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorena, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
From a young age, I always knew I was meant to be an artist. Although I went to college to study architecture, I never actually worked in the field. Life took me in a different direction, and when I moved to Florida, I began working as a full-time artist. However, my dream of becoming a live painter was always there—I just didn’t have the courage to put myself out there in front of an audience.
It took a couple of years to build up my confidence, but eventually, I painted my first wedding for a dear friend. From that moment, I fell in love with the process—the atmosphere of love, the joy of the occasion, and the connection I get to share with people during the painting process. Now, I truly cherish every moment of live painting.

Lorena, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Anyone who knows me, even from my childhood, knows I’ve always been a creator—constantly crafting something with my hands or enhancing it with paint. I truly believe I was meant to be an artist, brought into this world to paint and create. It’s so deeply ingrained in who I am that I can’t imagine having a fulfilling journey without creating or painting along the way.
Every time I finish a painting, I can’t help but think about the life it will have—how it will be cherished by a family, a couple, their children, and even future generations. That thought fills me with an indescribable sense of purpose and joy.
Since I started working as a live painter, I’ve had customers request other unique products, like sketch bars for their events or even wedding fingerprint tree paintings. It’s been incredibly exciting to develop these new services and explore fresh ideas. A whole rainbow of possibilities is unfolding, and I’m thrilled about the creative opportunities the future holds!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Absolutely! My mission is to create meaningful, timeless art that brings joy and connection to people’s lives. Whether through live wedding paintings, unique event offerings, or personal commissions, I strive to capture the beauty, emotion, and essence of special moments. At the core of my journey is the desire to celebrate love, family, and the human experience, leaving behind a legacy of art that will be cherished for generations.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to touch people’s lives in a deeply personal way. There’s something magical about capturing a moment, emotion, or story on canvas and knowing it will become a cherished memory for someone. Whether it’s the joy in a couple’s eyes when they see their wedding painting or hearing how a piece I created resonates with someone’s life, those connections make everything worthwhile. Being able to bring beauty, meaning, and a sense of togetherness into the world through my art is truly fulfilling.
