We were lucky to catch up with Gina Knox recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gina, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business as I had been working at Quickbooks and realized how much people wanted to know and were asking me for advice in finances. I had been lucky to learn a lot from my dad as well about what it looked like to really know your finances and be unbothered by them. I wanted to share this with others. Here I was a newer mom, with my baby strapped to my chest working to create this business and share more about finances.
I felt that I could bring financial education for small business owners in a way that made sense and made them feel like they could be good with money as well.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a financial coach for entrepreneurs with variable income and the host of the Small Business, Big Money Podcast. I teach entrepreneurs how to create strong business foundations by paying off business debt while saving for taxes and paying themselves well in my 12 month program Small Business Money School, then I helped clients create a 7 figure wealth portfolio with my mastermind 7 Figure Wealth. Over my career as a coach, I have helped my clients save over 8 million dollars in their businesses, and build wealth portfolios worth over 14 million dollars.
Before becoming a money coach, I was a small business researcher for QuickBooks for 5 years where I investigated the books of over 400 companies globally.
I am so proud of the impact and reach this business has had, as I know it will effect generations inside of these families.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Building a business in general is packed full of resilience building. I remember in the beginning, I had branding that was okay and I was not selling anything out or being as booked as I wanted. It was going fine, but not near what I had wanted. When I finally really focused in on branding, I saw my business become booked out and wait lists forming. This resilience it took to get to this point and learning how to represent my mission well with my brand really built resilience in me as a CEO.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I really educate a lot online through my podcast, TikTok, and Instagram. I am there to really share a lot of honest thoughts around money. Money is such a personal topic, that the honesty, openness, and the unbothered energy that I foster helps people to feel connected, understood and safe to be in this retainer or recommend it to others.
