Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren LaBrie. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Lauren , thanks for joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time – I wish I started my businesses sooner in life. I spent my 20s working for others when I could have been building my future & being confident in myself. I have learned that I am not built for a 9-5 office job and doing so made me unhappy Those experiences make me appreciate my schedule & being my own boss

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I own Dog Mom Pet Services & Anchored Marketing. I deep dove into what businesses I thought I’d really enjoy. I knew I loved animals & promoting other small businesses so I started building both brands slowly
For Dog Mom Pet Services I networked constantly and promoted myself hard for the first two years to build a solid client base I encouraged my clients to refer me, offering an incentive as I know with pet sitting — word of mouth is the best referral / marketing. I started out dog walking – added overnight care, pet wedding attendant & then pooper scooping
For Anchored Marketing, I promote small businesses & manage social media accounts I started with local businesses needing their social media consistently managed & through my volunteering with non – profits I began handling their accounts as well. Giving back to the community – especially women & animals is my focus & joy
I have proven I am community focused & clients for both business appreciate that & want to support me

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have built followers by providing consistent content on my Facebook page for Dog Mom Pet Services
I do so by creating a schedule of topics that I follow loosely. One day I’ll post photos of my pet clients – who doesn’t love cute pups & fluffy cats ? Those are easy posts to get a lot of likes and comments. Another day I’ll post a tip on pet safety or an upcoming dog rescue event to support the community. I have found that sharing the posts into local Facebook groups has grown my followers & gain views. It’s a free easy way to get your messages to the masses. Another tip – use a scheduler so you can create content ahead of time so you’re not scrambling to post Consistent posts, stories & reels have helped me gain clients as more people see the posts and share with those in need of pet services.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Before I started Dog Mom Pet Services, I had multiple jobs after college, mostly sales & desk jobs. I got laid off of one of my jobs and decided “ it’s now or never — this is the time to start your own business !” I pivoted and took a chance on myself, creating Dog Mom Pet Services 7 years ago Taking that risk changed my life & opened so many doors personally and professionally. Taking that leap was one of the best decisions of my life
