We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lauren Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I officially launched my business in 2017, but the journey began long before then. Consulting had always been part of who I was, and when I moved to Memphis, I felt called to build something bigger—something that blended my expertise with my passion for helping people protect what they create. I wrote a business plan, studied my market, and eventually refined my focus to a Small Viable Audience whose ideas deserved safeguarding. I laid a strong foundation: forming my Series LLC, securing my EIN, choosing a local bank, and assembling a trusted “dream team” of advisors who believed in my mission. My earliest clients came through referrals from organizations that recognized the quality of my work. My biggest challenge—and greatest breakthrough—was learning how to generate leads while teaching entrepreneurs to see their intellectual property as a powerful, strategic asset at the heart of their business.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a visionary entrepreneur and business owner who cares deeply about community impact. Raised in Chicago, I was taught the importance of faith, service, and being the change you want to see. After retiring in 2017 from a fulfilling career as an attorney, educator, trainer, public speaker, and community advocate, I founded LRB Global Consulting Services, a Series LLC, to continue helping others succeed.
We help entrepreneurs, business owners, and creative professionals build profitable businesses by identifying, protecting, and monetizing their intellectual property—including AI generated content. By simplifying complex legal concepts, we empower clients to confidently navigate the laws and regulations affecting their work.
As the IP and AI Strategist™, my core focus is helping clients use AI legally, ethically, and responsibly, while maintaining control over their creations. I am most proud of my clients’ success and their growing commitment to leveraging IP as a strategic business asset. Our mission is clear: to ensure AI driven creations are protected, valued, and positioned for long term growth.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage on the rise, I noticed that more clients were having issues with others copying and using their creations without permission or compensation. These clients wanted to know how to protect their creations, especially when they used AI to help with the creative process.
I have incorporated protecting AI-generated content as part of my intellectual property services. I also conduct workshops on the legal, ethical, and responsible use of AI in business. The 2026 series starts on March 19. Registration is available on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/ip-savvytm-hybrid-workshop-series-on-ip-and-ai-4815627.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Since becoming an IP and AI Strategist™, I’ve seen a steady increase in clients seeking guidance on identifying, protecting, and monetizing their intellectual property—including AI‑generated content. By clearly defining and marketing to my Smallest Viable Audience, I’ve built a focused, values‑aligned client base. Much of my growth comes from referrals by current and former clients who recognize my specialized focus on IP and AI.
