We recently connected with Krystal Sastre and have shared our conversation below.
Krystal , appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is not just about achieving personal goals; it’s about making a positive impact and empowering others along the way. In the modeling industry, success goes beyond external validation and encompasses personal growth, resilience, and authenticity. Fulfilling in this competitive field takes passion, dedication, and continuous learning.
Success is built on a solid foundation of self-belief and staying true to one’s values. Throughout my journey, I have encountered numerous challenges and setbacks, but my unwavering belief in myself and my purpose kept me going. I learned to embrace rejection as an opportunity for growth and to view failure as a stepping stone toward success.
One story that comes to mind is when I received an inappropriate phone call from a casting director. It was a moment that tested my resolve and made me question the industry’s norms. Instead of letting it discourage me, I used it as a catalyst for change. I created ‘The Ideal Model’ movement to support aspiring models and promote values and respect within the industry. This experience taught me the importance of standing up for oneself and others and further reinforced my belief in the power of community and empowerment.
To succeed, you must surround yourself with a supportive network and mentors who believe in your potential. I have been fortunate to have mentors who guided me and shared their wisdom, helping me navigate the industry’s challenges and uncover opportunities. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in my growth as a model and entrepreneur.
In summary, success is not just about individual achievements but also about uplifting others and positively impacting the world. It requires self-belief, resilience, continuous learning, and building a solid support system. By staying true to our values and embracing our unique journeys, we can pave the way for success in the modeling industry and beyond.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Krystal Sastre, and I founded The Ideal Model. I have always been passionate about the modeling industry and its power to inspire and uplift individuals. I believe modeling is about appearance and embracing one’s uniqueness, expressing oneself authentically, and positively impacting others.
My journey in this industry started at a young age when I began modeling as a child. However, during my college years, I immersed myself in the world of modeling and developed a deep understanding of its intricacies. I pursued a communication degree with a major in acting and public speaking, which allowed me to enhance my skills and broaden my knowledge in the field.
The Ideal Model is a platform that offers a range of products, services, and creative works aimed at empowering aspiring models and helping them navigate the industry with purpose and integrity. We provide resources such as The Model Book, which offers valuable insights into the modeling industry, and The Model Journal, a tool for self-reflection and goal tracking. Additionally, our WINGO Challenges encourage models to step out of their comfort zones, build their portfolios, and develop their skills.
One of the main problems we solve for our clients is providing guidance and support in an industry that can often be challenging and competitive. We understand the importance of values, respect, and authenticity in the modeling world and strive to instill these principles in everything we do. By offering a holistic approach to modeling, we empower individuals to succeed professionally and develop a strong sense of self and purpose.
Our emphasis on personal growth and community sets The Ideal Model apart. We believe modeling is not just about external appearances but also inner transformation and positive impact. We foster a supportive community where models can connect, share their experiences, and learn from one another. We prioritize creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels valued and empowered.
I am most proud of The Ideal Model movement, which I initiated to address the challenges and inequalities within the industry. It was born from my personal experiences and a desire to create a positive change. Through The Ideal Model, I aim to inspire and uplift aspiring models, helping them discover their true potential and use their platform to make a difference.
In conclusion, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that The Ideal Model is not just a platform for modeling but a community that promotes values, growth, and empowerment. We are committed to supporting individuals on their modeling journeys, providing them with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to succeed. Our focus is on authenticity, inclusivity, and making a positive impact in the industry and beyond.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale is crucial to creating a positive and productive work environment. Here are some advice and strategies that I have found effective:
1. Effective Communication: Open and transparent communication is critical to maintaining high morale within a team. Regularly communicate with your team members, providing clear expectations, feedback, and recognition for their contributions. Encourage open dialogue, active listening, and create opportunities for team members to share their ideas and concerns.
2. Set Clear Goals and Expectations: Clearly define goals and expectations for the team. Ensure that each team member understands their role, responsibilities, and the overall vision and objectives of the project or organization. This clarity helps team members stay focused and motivated.
3. Encourage Collaboration and Teamwork: Foster a collaborative work environment where team members feel encouraged to share their ideas, work together, and support each other. Promote teamwork through team-building activities, cross-functional projects, and creating a sense of camaraderie within the team.
4. Recognize and Reward Achievements: Celebrate individual and team achievements to boost morale and motivation. Recognize and appreciate team members’ efforts and accomplishments, whether through verbal praise, written acknowledgments, or small rewards. This recognition reinforces a positive work culture and encourages continued high performance.
5. Support Professional Development: Invest in the growth and development of your team members. Provide opportunities for training, learning, and skill development. Please encourage them to set personal and professional goals and support them in achieving them. When team members see that their growth is valued and supported, it increases their motivation and commitment.
6. Foster a Positive Work Environment: Create a positive environment that promotes trust, respect, and psychological safety. Encourage open communication, collaboration, and work-life balance. Address any conflicts or issues promptly and fairly. By fostering a positive work environment, you cultivate a sense of belonging and well-being among your team members.
7. Lead by Example: As a leader, your actions and attitude set the tone for the team. Be a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic. Show empathy, be approachable, and provide guidance and support when needed. Your leadership style and behavior will significantly influence the morale and motivation of your team.
Remember that each team is unique, and it’s essential to adapt your approach based on your specific team’s dynamics, strengths, and challenges. By prioritizing effective communication, collaboration, recognition, and support, you can successfully manage a team and maintain high morale, leading to a motivated and engaged workforce.
