We were lucky to catch up with Kalaigh Sullins recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kalaigh , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
What it takes to be successful is determination and don’t have the mind frame to give up. It take discipline.
Kalaigh , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
A little bit about myself: I am a married and also mother of 3 beautiful kids. 2 boys and 1 girl. I been modeling for about 7 years in a group called Full Figured and Flawless. Our mission is to uplift other women who might lack self-esteem issues. I am currently Ms. Full- Figured Alabama 2023. I will be going to nationals in New Jersey and completing alongside my pageant sisters. The proudest moment is when I was crown Ms. Full- Figured Alabama 2023 also Alongside that title Ms. social media and Ms. Congeniality. Those titles mean so much to me because I worked hard and I want to let young or old know that you matter and size doesnt mean you cant do what you want to do. Do it with confidence.
How did you build your audience on social media?
How I built my audience on social media is by posting about what I am doing everyday. Going around talking about the pageant and also my non-profit. My advice is post as much as possible also start a business page on social media.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I have a non-profit that I am trying to start up called Project Empowerment. I started almost 2 years ago. I am buying everything out of pocket such as venues to hold empowerment brunches I do every year. I do self care bags for the homeless every year. I supply everything. My goal in the next 5 years to be able to fund everything with grants or funding.
