Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kaitlyn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kaitlyn , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I’ve known I wanted to be a creative for as long as I can remember. I distinctly remember being sad or upset, and watching something on TV would make me feel so much better. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, have the ability to make someone feel something.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a writer, director, CEO, and any other hat you can imagine. I create micro-films, film series, musical projects, documentaries, and more. I founded my all-Black nonprofit production company at 17, and I’ve been building it ever since. I’m 25 now, and my drive only grows stronger while my work continues to get better. I love what I do and I love the family I’ve created while building my business.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I lost my mom on December 23, 2025. Because she was terminally ill for most of my life, my goal was always to become successful before I lost her. After she passed, I had to decide whether I would let such a massive loss make me or break me. Even though it’s hard and still an everyday journey, I’ve chosen to let my mom’s light live through me and my work. I know she’s watching, and making her proud is now more important to me than ever.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of my work is the ability to connect with people all over the world through an idea that once lived only in my head. Sometimes it’s almost mind-blowing to see how many people relate to a finished project that started as just a thought. I’m grateful that God has given me the gift of relatability and the platform to share it with those who need to experience it.
