Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
The concept for BoldnRarity started because I always liked to dress over the top for my office job every day. My formal manager would often tease me for sometimes doing the most. What can I say? My love for fashion runs deep. I recall being a kid and just being fascinated by all the beautiful prints and colors the celebrities would wear on the cover of the magazines. I was born extra and felt that I needed a creative outlet to showcase my love for all things fashion and travel. So, spring of 2019, I launched BoldnRarity, a lifestyle platform that focuses on aspirational lifestyle content and body positivity. This idea has allowed me to work with so many brands.

Hello friends! My name is Jennifer, the Content Creator behind the blog BoldnRarity. To be transparent, I had no prior experience, just an idea, and a passion. I started from scratch with 0 followers, late to the game, but I didn’t let that discourage me. Slowly, I have grown my platform and am grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had. The content pillars that I focus on are lifestyle, fashion, and travel. The message that I hope to convey to my audience is not to be afraid to take that leap of faith and try it with no regrets. What differentiates me from others is my quirky sense of style and how I embrace being different. I am most proud of stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things knowing that potentially motivates someone else to do the same leaves a good feeling.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My blogging journey started with 0 followers. The strategy I used to build my audience was posting consistently three times a week around the same time and using all 30 hashtags. I eventually went from 0 to 1900 followers. I am a nano influencer but don’t let the title fool you. I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands such as Aerie, Overtone, JustFab, kate spade new york, and many more. My advice to anyone wanting to be a Content Creator is to go for it and don’t let anyone or anything discourage you. There is space for everybody.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
A year into my blogging journey, I landed an opportunity to work with a brand to host an in-store blogging event. I was excited to tackle a new creative project and bring my online audience to an in-person event. My goal was to invite 30 people and collaborate with local businesses to help source my swag bags for my guest. It took a lot of emails and advertising to my audience to promote my event. I didn’t anticipate my event to do as well as it did. I was able to work with local businesses to secure free items for the swag bags, all 30 of my guest showed up, and the best part was that the store had exceeded their sales plan within 2 hrs of me hosting my event.
