We recently connected with Jamariah Kelly and have shared our conversation below.
Jamariah , appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
As a business owner who also has a regular job, I know that I am happier as a business owner. I have the thought every Monday. Especially after spending my weekends creating content, connecting with other business owners and getting to fully operate in my purpose. It’s tougher and tougher to clock in when all I want to do is create.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Jamariah Kelly, a creative director and the founder of FBW Collective, a creative ecosystem built to help entrepreneurs and small businesses show up online with more clarity and confidence. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling and I noticed that many talented entrepreneurs struggle because their messaging, visuals, or digital presence don’t fully communicate the value of what they offer. That realization is what pushed me deeper into brand strategy and creative consulting.
Through FBW Collective, I help business owners refine their brand positioning, elevate their visual presence, and create content strategies that feel authentic and sustainable. My goal is to help founders move from scattered ideas to a brand that clearly communicates who they are and why their work matters. What sets my approach apart is that I focus on both creativity and strategy. A brand shouldn’t just look good, it should communicate clearly, build trust, and support real growth. I’m especially passionate about helping other entrepreneurs who are building something meaningful while navigating the realities of work, life, and entrepreneurship.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Personally, in person and social media. I’m able to connect better at an event but depending on the platform, I’ve found success pitching on social media.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started my brand initially during the pandemic and right after being laid off for the first time in my life. I moved back to Atlanta with no car, no place and no job; just my brand. But then I got scared, got back into the car business and put my dream on hold. I regret not continuing to operate off blind faith but I’m here now.
