We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hesok Pittman-Boyd a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hesok, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
Oh I sure do wish I could’ve started sooner!! If I had started sooner I would have had more time with my husband and son and just that family time together! At the time of starting my business I was in the pharmaceutical field and I worked a lot! I worked holidays, birthdays etc. let’s just say I missed out on a lot due to work. If I had started my business sooner I would not have missed all the special moments I can’t get back!!

I started doing birthday parties just for fun for family and started living it! I got tired of my pharmaceutical job so I wanted to start my own business as an event and wedding planner and boy it’s a hit!! I started Bountyful Creations in 2017 and still going today! We specialize in wedding and events. If my client’s have last minute concerns I’m always there to ease their minds and let them know I got you! I go far and beyond for my client’s to even if they don’t have a garter at the last minute we will go buy one for you. Im most proud that we have been able to provide our client’s with the most lavish looking weddings or events at an affordable price!
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my co founder at church! The co founder is actually my husband. I always told him whatever we do we are partners in it and we’re here today business going on 9yrs this year and going on 20 yrs married this month!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that success doesn’t happen over night. We always want our businesses to flourish and instantly create that clientele and revenue and that’s not always the case. You have to market your services just like any other type of service. It takes time to get yourself out there, don’t stop, keep going because if you believe in your product or service strongly, everyone else will too!
