We recently connected with Hannah Nokes and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
The mission of our consulting firm, Magnify Impact, is “to focus the world’s abundant resources for good.” In our work with companies, we see a common thread: a love for people and the community. What’s often lacking is a plan for how to turn love into action: positive impact that drives profitability.
In my role as “chief optimist” for Magnify Impact, I help company leaders create plans that start from a place of abundance,
rather than scarcity. I believe we have the resources available to take care of the world and its people. When we are open-handed to share our resources, it is not a zero-sum game. The pie expands as you give away pieces—everyone benefits.
My vision is for every company we work with to become more purposeful, generous, and incredibly financially successful—setting off a powerful wave of shared prosperity.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I co-founded Magnify Impact with Maggie Miller a few years ago, to help companies be proactive and strategic about the ways they support the communities in which they operate.
We call our company Magnify Impact for a reason: when you align your company’s resources and talents with its core purpose,
you magnify your value to everyone involved.
We have been thrilled to go behind the curtain with some of the world’s most well-known brands. We are even more fortunate to work with emerging brands that are charting their course toward connecting profit and social impact, because they have a unique opportunity to infuse purpose into everything they do from the start.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my co-founder, Maggie, when I was at the helm of a corporate foundation for a major financial services company. Maggie was working as a consultant helping business leaders with their social impact strategies, and we enlisted her help. Once I struck out on my own, Maggie and I collaborated to serve large client projects, and eventually decided to join forces!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I think I am currently unlearning my old habits around “productivity.” It’s a work in progress, but I want to get better at not prioritizing busy-ness at the expense of doing what’s actually important. I am a recovering task list maker. I’ve been known to write something on the list that I’ve already done, so I can cross it off!
