Felix , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

In many communities across Northern Ghana, persons living with visual impairment face daily challenges that go beyond mobility.

Limited access to educational materials, assistive technology, and social support often makes independence difficult for children with visual disabilities.

Recognizing this need, I joined the BlindAid Ghana Foundation as Public Relation Manager and a group of volunteers to organizer meaningful project aimed at improving the lives of blind individuals especially children through inclusion, empowerment, and practical support at the Wa school for the blind.

A Vision Rooted in Compassion

The project was created to address gaps in resources available to visually impaired people, particularly in rural areas where specialized services are scarce.

The initiative focuses on providing essential tools such as white canes, audio learning materials, braille resources, and basic training designed to help beneficiaries navigate their environments with greater confidence.

Organizers believe that disability should never limit opportunity. By working closely with families, schools, and local leaders, the project promoted understanding and reduced stigma surrounding visual impairment.

Education and Skill Development

One of the key components of the initiative is education.

Many visually impaired students struggle due to a lack of accessible learning materials.

Through partnerships with educators and volunteers, the project distributed recorded lessons and braille materials to help students continue their education on equal footing with their peers.
