Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Emily Golden. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Emily, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Brandon & Emily purchased Print to Suit in 2018 from a family friend. Print to Suit offers custom Screen-printing, Embroidery, and Promotional Products. Working with schools, sports teams, organizations, and businesses is where the joy of customer service is found. When you do business with Print-to-Suit, you are supporting a small family-owned and operated business that values relationships and service. The Goldens are known for providing excellent customer service and delivering high-quality products that serve their customers well. They prioritize time with family and friends and teaching their daughters everything there is to know about entrepreneurship, customer service, and business. Brandon’s education from the UNT Hospitality Program plays an integral role in how the Goldens do business. Serving others is Brandon’s top priority. Emily is an educator who is pioneering a Fashion Design Program for High School Career & Technical Education students. Her love for people, teaching, and entrepreneurship is shown through the work that she does serving her community, students, employees, and customers. Brandon & Emily, along with plenty of help from their daughters, recently launched Stay Golden Gifts + Artisan Market. The gift shop is located The Keith Bell Opportunity Central in Forney ISD. At Stay Golden, students in the district are learning about entrepreneurship, marketing, and business. Stop by for a visit and discover artisan goods that are hand-made by students in the district or to learn more about the services that they provide.

Emily, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Prior to Covid our printing business, Print To Suit, Inc. was thriving as we served schools and small businesses. When all of the schools closed that directly impacted our sales. We opened a boutique on The Kaufman Square to supplement our income. We named our boutique Sweet Tee and focused on what we did best- printing trendy t-shirts! Recently in 2023, we proposed for our business to become a part of Forney ISD’s Opportunity Central. We presented our proposal to the Superintendent and his cabinet. The proposal went well, but Forney ISD had already partnered with a printing business and a boutique. We pivoted again and launched Stay Golden Gifts + Artisan Market where we support local vendors and student entrepreneurship.

How’d you meet your business partner?
We are a husband/wife team at Print To Suit, Inc. and Stay Golden! We met in high school, dated through college, then got married and had 2 daughters! Our daughters are also really into entrepreneurship and they have launched their own brand within Stay Golden – Golden Girls Mini Boutique! There are some challenges to working with your spouse everyday, but for the most part, we have fun, enjoy one another’s company, and tackle the challenging things together!
