We recently connected with Andrew Nycz and have shared our conversation below.
Andrew, appreciate you joining us today. Before we talk about all of your success, let’s start with a story of failure. Can you open up about a time when you’ve failed?
My life has not been a straight line. I took many wrong turns in my 20’s. I struggled with addiction for many, many years and it robbed me of so much. So much time, so many relationships, so many opportunities…
But what I learned is that there is a message in my mess. I took my challenges and things that I have overcome in my life, and used them to help others.
Through getting clean and sober, I learned to re find my passion for life which lead me to a career in filmmaking. For many years, people told me that I could not make money in this line of work and I adopted that belief. Now I operate a business that provides for myself, my amazing wife and two beautiful children.
My failure taught me that no matter how far down you dig, there is always a way out if you are willing to ask for help.

Andrew, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started taking videos of my friends in college. Road trips, swimming in waterfalls, and our cars. Just having fun. I never realized that this spark would ignite something much larger for me.
I focus on narrative filmmaking, documentaries, corporate work, and social media content to help brands and businesses grow online.
I am most proud of a documentary I am in the process of filming right now. It is a story about a young lady with cystic fibrosis who is attempting and epic 80 mile paddle boarding endurance event from the Bahamas to South Florida.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I started a juice and smoothie bar in 2019. I am super passionate about health and wellness as well as exercise. I put my blood sweat and tears into the business. Due to lack of planning, and research, this business did not succeed. I had to go back to the drawing board with this tough lesson behind me.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth and referrals. I am proud of the network I have built as a result of being a good human being and treating others the way that I would like to be treated.
