We recently connected with Ejay and have shared our conversation below.
Ejay, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I was in the 4th Grade, true story. This was around the time 106th & Park was popular on BET and they had a segment on Fridays called “Freestyle Friday”. So, me and a group of friends did the same thing at school during lunch/recess. I ALWAYS won, and from that point on, I said I wanted to make music. Fast forward to my Sophomore year in High School, I started making beats and actually recorded my first real song in my Moms bedroom, I had a whole set up taking over half her bedroom LOL

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got by Ejay, from Dallas TX born & raised. I am a rapper, songwriter, producer, and DJ. I have had a passion for music since the age of 10-11. I got into the industry honestly by myself, just networking and building connections with other producers, rappers, DJs, etc.. I came from a family who loves music from blues, R&B, reggae, Hip Hop/Rap, gospel, country, and anything else that sounds good. My favorite artist is 2pac, which is part of the reason my work ethic is the way it is, considering he would record albums worth of music within 1-2 studio sessions. I have 3 boys and a wife, Fatherhood is the best hood to be in. I want my fans/followers to grow with me, motivation is one thing I talk about the most, along with other topics. But it’s all about positivity, growth, family & money with me. One thing I’ll never forget to do is PUT GOD FIRST.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, not rich, but WEALTH

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Making music that touches people souls.
