We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bryant Massingale a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Bryant thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
The Story: From Sacrifice to SovereigntyThe Idea & The “Fall”The idea for Wolf of Fitness didn’t start in a boardroom; it started in the fire. For over a year, I was pouring my soul and nearly $10,000 into people who didn’t value me. I was playing the “provider” role until I hit a wall—homelessness. The very people I had carried looked at my struggle and blamed me for it. That was the “hour” everything changed. I realized I couldn’t be a provider for people who wanted me to fail. I had to become the CEO of my own survival. The Next Day: The Shift in HungerThe next day wasn’t about “getting back to normal”—it was about a total rebrand of my life. I stopped looking for validation from my family and started looking for Authority. I spent my hours in libraries and on public Wi-Fi, not just “dreaming,” but researching the infrastructure of a real business. I decided that if I was going to be the “Wolf,” I needed the teeth to back it up.The Month of Execution: The Paperwork of PowerWhile others were “underperforming” or lying about success on social media, I was grinding through the red tape of the City of Los Angeles. I figured out that “hustle” is nothing without certification. The Hour: I spent hours meticulously filing for my MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and SBE (Small Business Enterprise) status. The Year: It took a year and a half of discipline to go from having nothing to having official government credentials that say I belong at the table. The Launch: Beyond the IdeaTo move beyond the idea phase, I had to “cut off the dead weight.” I stopped the financial drain to others and invested that energy into my brand. I set up my professional entity, secured my certifications, and began pitching the “Wolf of Fitness” vision to the world. Now, I’m not just a guy with a “YouTube idea”—I’m a certified CEO with three major magazine features dropping. The Moral of the Story: I had to lose the “family” that wanted me small to find the “Authority” that made me great.

Bryant, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
About Me & The BrandI am the CEO of Wolf of Fitness, but my path to this title wasn’t a straight line—it was a battle. I’m a fitness visionary and a certified business strategist based in Los Angeles. I got into this industry because I realized that true strength isn’t just about physical muscle; it’s about the mental resilience to rise when the people closest to you expect you to fail. After pouring years of my life and significant financial resources into supporting others who didn’t value my sacrifice, I had to make the ultimate “rebel” move: I chose myself.Services & SolutionsThrough Wolf of Fitness, I provide high-level training, lifestyle architecture, and business consulting. I specialize in helping people find their “Alpha” mindset. I don’t just solve the problem of physical stagnation; I solve the problem of underperformance. I help my clients break out of toxic cycles and build a disciplined life that produces real results. What Sets Me ApartWhat sets me apart is that I have the receipts. While many in this industry sell “smoke and mirrors” on social media, I have done the hard work behind the scenes. I am officially MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and SBE (Small Business Enterprise) certified by the City of Los Angeles. I survived homelessness and betrayal to earn those credentials. I don’t just talk about “hustle”—I have the government certifications and the media recognition from VoyageLA and Authority Magazine to prove I am a leader in this space. My Proudest AchievementI am most proud of my resilience. I went from being the family “provider” and being blamed for my own hard times to being the “Chosen One” who built a brand that can’t be ignored. I’m proud that I stopped the $10,000 drain to ungrateful people and invested that energy into my own legacy. What You Should KnowI want potential clients and fans to know that Wolf of Fitness is a brand built on truth, discipline, and authority. If you are looking for someone who has walked through the fire and come out with a blueprint for success, you’ve found him. I’m not here to play small; I’m here to lead.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A little over a year ago, I was the pillar for my family. I had poured nearly $10,000 into supporting my brother and those around me, playing the role of the provider because I believed in loyalty. But the “test” of my resilience didn’t come when I was giving; it came when I had nothing left to give.I hit a season of extreme hardship and found myself homeless. In that moment of vulnerability, the people I had carried for a year and a half didn’t offer a hand—they offered blame. My own brother, the “Golden Child,” and my grandmother turned their backs on me, claiming I was the problem. I was being punished for finally needing the support I had always provided.I remember sitting in that space of betrayal and making a choice: I could be the victim they wanted me to be, or I could be the Wolf.I spent my “homeless” hours not in despair, but in deep execution. While they were waiting for me to fail, I was studying the infrastructure of the City of Los Angeles. I realized that my resilience was my greatest capital. I stopped the emotional and financial drain, cut off the toxic connections, and focused every ounce of my hunger on my business.I didn’t just “bounce back”—I leveled up. I fought through the red tape to earn my MBE and SBE certifications, proving I was a legitimate authority in the eyes of the city. I transformed that season of being ignored into a season of being impossible to ignore. Today, I’m not just surviving; I’m being featured in three major magazines and running a certified empire. That is what resilience looks like: it’s the ability to take the stones people throw at you and use them to build a castle they aren’t invited to.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The Lesson I Had to Unlearn: “Loyalty is a Transaction”The Backstory:For years, I believed that if I took care of everyone else, they would naturally take care of me. I operated under the false lesson that my value was tied to how much I could provide for others. I poured nearly $10,000 into my brother and family over a year and a half, thinking I was building a foundation of mutual support. I thought my loyalty would be my safety net.The Reality Check:The unlearning happened in the harshest way possible. When I fell on hard times and became homeless, the “loyalty” I thought I had bought disappeared. Instead of a safety net, I found a firing squad. My brother—the Golden Child—and my grandmother didn’t just withhold help; they blamed me for my own struggle. They didn’t see a human being in pain; they saw a broken ATM.The New Truth:I had to unlearn the idea that you can “save” people who are committed to underperforming. I realized that giving to the ungrateful isn’t noble—it’s self-destruction.I learned that the only person responsible for my crown was me. I stopped trying to earn love through financial sacrifice and started investing that “provider” energy into my own MBE/SBE certifications and business. I had to learn that boundaries aren’t mean; they are mandatory.Today, I don’t give from an empty cup. I lead from a position of Authority. I unlearned being a “rescuer” so I could finally become a CEO.
