We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dylan Thomas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dylan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on so far has been my first EP as a Christian artist that was released in September 2025. The project is titled “Kingdom Business”. I’ve been producing and making music for a while now, but in 2025 I decided to start glorifying God with my art. The reason why this is so meaningful to me is because it’s my first completed body of work as an artist, and I get to honor my creator with it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For anyone meeting me for the first time, I’m Dylan Thomas—though creatively, folks know me as “Eklectik.” I started this journey way back when I was just a kid—I wrote my first little rap at around five and got into making beats as a teenager in high school. Music has always been a part of my life, even before I really knew the craft. Eventually, I started producing my own beats because I wanted to carve out my own sound. I didn’t want to rely on someone else to define my music’s style, so I learned to do it all myself—production, recording, etc.
Fast forward a bit: I moved to Atlanta in 2017 to really take this creative calling seriously. My style is super eclectic—I’ve dabbled in everything from hip-hop to EDM and beyond. What sets me apart is that I don’t box myself into one genre. And more importantly, I’m a fully faith-based creative now. Around 2025, I really made the shift to creating for the Lord and aligning my art with my faith. So everything I do now—my music, my visuals, my brand—is all about spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I’m also a visual artist and content creator. I edit most of my own reels, I produce a lot of my own visual content, and I’m currently working on my second and third projects after dropping my first EP last year. Plus, I’ve got a book on the way, which is another piece of this whole creative ecosystem I’m building.
I want people to know is that I’m here to create meaningful, faith-driven art that’s authentic and diverse. I’m grateful for the journey, and I’m excited to keep growing in purpose.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative, in my opinion, is that creativity truly has no limits. The more you grow in the skills needed to express your vision, the more clearly you’re able to share that vision. What starts as an idea can eventually become something real that moves people, inspires them, or even changes the way they see something. That process of turning imagination into reality is very fulfilling to me.
For me, creativity is also spiritual. I believe our creative abilities are gifts from God, so using those gifts to inspire, encourage, and uplift others is fulfilling. Whether it’s through music, visuals, or storytelling, the goal is to create work that not only sounds or looks great, but also carries meaning and purpose.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life came when I realized that some of the art I was creating didn’t truly represent what I believed anymore. I had developed the skills, the experience, and the ability to make great music—but something in my spirit didn’t feel right.
I reached a point where I knew I had to align my creativity with my faith. That meant making the decision to start creating art that glorifies God instead of creating things that conflicted with my beliefs.
Once I made that change, everything began to shift in a positive way. Creativity actually became easier for me because I was finally creating from a place that was authentic to who I am. But it also required me to examine my lifestyle and environment even more. I realized that if I was going to create for the Lord, I couldn’t live one way while representing something completely different through my art.
For me, that’s part of the responsibility that comes with creative gifts. They come with a standard. Making that pivot has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made in my life.
