Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Arletha Orr. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Arletha , appreciate you joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
Hey hey! It’s Arletha Orr, better known as The Grief Coach, where I inspire, motivate, and encourage you to get through your grief journey.
Are you an ordinary person like me? Did you think you had a perfect life, but then life handed you something you never expected? Whew! You’re in the right place!
My journey has brought me here, a Certified Grief Coach for women and men who are stuck in grief but want to move forward. We can have our own plans, but God will always interrupt with His plan.
Grief made a major impact on my life! A mom of two and a wife, my life was perfect! I was faithful in church (and still am), dedicated to work, and whatever else I decided to do. I gave everything my all.
May 18, 2016, was a normal day for us, moving along with our normal family routine. Early rising at 6 am by my baby saying, “Ma, eat eat!” That was the start of our mornings! Who knew my life would change that day? Who knew my oh so perfect world would be shattered?
Around 6:15 pm, I received a call…the worst news of my life. I was told my husband was struck by a train!
I just knew it wasn’t real, ONLY to find out…it was.
My husband and my 2 children, gone!
But that’s not the end of my story. I started coaching to help people like you reclaim the fullness of life in the midst of grief. God spoke and told me to “live,” and I will hold on to those words for life!
You don’t need a diagnosis or a treatment plan – you just need someone to listen to you, guide you, and give you support so that you can find your way into joy and peace.
You are not alone, I am here with you!
I’d love to be your cheerleader, your ear, your shoulder, and your coach – to help you see the best in yourself and your life. I’ll be there for you every step of the way, as long and as far as you want to go.

Arletha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Word of mouth have been the most effective step.

If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Absolutely! It wasn’t the best experience, but if it helps someone else and it’s for the glory of God, I’m good with it.
