Duke The Guitarist , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?

Learning guitar was a passion of mine at very young age. I was in inspired by father, who began teaching when I was only 5 years old. I believe learning basic music theory earlier on would’ve helped speed up the process but at the same time I believe the “play from the heart ” method helped mold me into the musician I am today.

Studying skillful guitarists and learning different genres were definitely essential on my musical journey.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I began my professional music career at the age of 13 become the bassist for the JD Gospel Singers of Uriah Al. Over the years I branched out into other genres like r&b and country. In 2016 I began performing around the southern states with country artist Kirk Jay who later went on to place top 3 on NBC’s The Voice. I’ve also been blessed with the opportunities to perform with several other rising artists from The Voice, American Idol and Sundays Best.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Touring, major or independent ,is definitely a goal of mine. I’ve been able to share my gift with people all of the the world through social media but live and in person is the ultimate experience.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

I’ll have to say execution is one of the most rewarding parts. Having a goal set mind and putting in the hard work in studying the music, rehearsing and having things pan out during the performance just like as they were strategically planned and having the audience enjoy the experience is one of the biggest rewards.
