We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Collective Dance LLC. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Collective below.
Collective, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Collective Dance Company was established in 2022 by Braidie Gummow & Lexi Labrum. Collective is more than just a dance company, its an idea of creation and connections. It’s a way to share our passion for dance and be there for each other while doing so. “Collective has already become so special to us. We are so excited to share our ideas and build connections through this dance establishment. We have talented dancers and minds on our company. We couldn’t do it without them!” -Owners.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Both Lexi & Braidie are professional choreographers and dance teachers. We have been able to travel around the United States providing choreography to high school dance teams, studios, and more! Within our Collective Dance Company, we are creating pieces to showcase at our Concert and providing opportunities to dancers of all ages to participate and create as well. We love to mentor and help to bring out the best in others. Our choreography consists of several different genres (jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, contemp-pop, etc). We hope to continue to build and choreograph for many other studios & companies across the country!

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
At Collective Dance Company we want to always provide a good experience for anyone involved. It is important to us that we offer a safe environment for everyone by being inclusive and always speaking positively. This dance company is a place to express and to enjoy. We continue to talk with our members to make sure that this is something they continually feel so that we can improve each day. One of the best things that has brought a high morale has been the ability to communicate and an open door policy. We genuinely care about each of our members and anyone that comes to watch our show! Life is meant to be enjoyed.

How did you build your audience on social media?
One of the owners (Braidie Gummow) has a great understanding of how social media pages should look and who to reach out to. She has been able to really create great content and share our posts to those who may be interested. It is important to always be real with your intention. Reach out to people on social media, comment on their posts just like a regular page would to be more personable. Always get back in a timely manner and create a look that is just yours to stick out from the others.
